Mixed feelings here too - I voted to leave, but oh, such a hard decision! And I know there are so many unhappy people this morning, though that would of course have been the case whichever way it went.

I like skirting ladder Silvasava, hadn't heard that one.

2 tonnes of gravel moved, more weed matting laid, 12 buckets of rocks moved, 1 shower screen channel picked up, 100l of topsoil distributed and a microwave dropped off for inspection. *phew*. Also 2 glasses of sparkling wine and a large whisky. Now maybe things still hurt, but I don't give a patooty :D

Brexit... no idea what will happen, but having seen what open borders have done for a small struggling northern town, can't see the working class there faring any worse out of the EU.

  • I just heard the sweetest thing, my friend Sue and Charlie retriever spotted we were back from a week with the girls and the Zebra child and popped in to say hello. Her little granddaughter who is 5 on learning this morning that the referendum was for leave the EU said to her mum 'Mummy what about the Queen? will she be alright?' then she said ' Oh She's got all her soldiers who will look after hasn't she, so that will be OK' and the poppet insisted on wearing her plastic tiara in to school 'so the Queen knows someone is thinking about her today Mummy'. Solidarity from a 5 year old monarchist? if I was the Queen I'd be watching my job!!!

How is everyone this morning? We have a mouse :( I expect they are finding it hard to find food outside when everywhere's so wet. OH put a couple of traps down, and the bait's been taken from one but it didn't spring, so will have to get him to check it to make sure it's set properly (I can't do it, my thumbs won't co-operate) and try again tonight.
Really don't need this on top of all the things that are wrong with the house

    Large Pinot Grigio please!

Just washed & spun 7 Ziploc bags of spinach for freezing as the plants were starting to bolt after the sun-rain-sun weather we've had. Got a kg of strawbs to trim and to be jammed tomorrow, and half a kg of rhubarb to wash & chop for the freezer too, plus about 40 radishes and the first 200g of raspberries. As you can see, I had a very productive 3 hours on my allotment this morning before coming home for a thrilling game of rugby from Sydney :D

DH taking me for a curry tonight, so better get on so I have time to beautify myself in honour of the occasion ;):D
