Wondercollie - the fires were on our National News last night. Truly terrifying to see the devastation and that was just on TV. I just hope and pray that the weather changes

wondercollie It finallly made the BBC national news last night.

Two of DD2's friends are turning 40, so to celebrate they have arranged a weekend trip abroad and DD2 among others is going as well. Goodness, when her dad and I were 40 we just went out for dinner! (As did DD1.)

I'm glad she's going, as she desperately needs a break and they did get a very good price, though unfortunately it looks as if the weather where they're going will not be nearly as nice as here! It's due to be quite warm, but raining!

I am puzzled by you all saying the fires in Canada were not on the news until last night because I definitely saw it on the news the night before. I do not have a TV service. I only watch the News at 10 on BBC.

It just could have been on Newsnight because I always switch straight to Newsnight after the news. The time zone could have meant it did not come in until after 10.30pm. It is also difficult for us to imagine anything so huge as the area is more than half the size of England. I hope the weather changes Wondercollie.

I also saw the news about the fires on Wednesday, I was at work and the people where I work had the news on, rather than the music channel they favour and we were all talking about it.

Wondercollie. How frightening! The forces of nature can be terrifying and it makes us realise how puny humans are in the face of it. I do hope that the situation improves soon and that those people who have lost everything manage to rebuild their lives. As to the pets left behind.............my mind just won't go there.
Mila. Who are these people who can inflict such horrific crimes on innocent children? That poor family will never get over the loss of that little girl and her brother's life will be coloured by it until his dying day. Appalling.

Well, I am still battling the new format. Silvasaver, I can't find any mention of desktop anywhere. The only way I am getting the green version is to click on someone's name at random, click on 'send a PM', and then user CP comes up and I can proceed from there. I have to do this every time I log on. It's so tiresome and has never happened before. Grrrrrrrrr.

Another lovely day and another day of washing and drying. Slightly hampered by the fact that DIL has the habit of leaving the plastic person the line (sigh. p e g s o n the line) and they are all brittle and shatter when you squeeze them. One disadvantage of living in a village is that clothes pegs seem to be unobtainable so I will have to wait until someone is visiting some larger community (like T*sc*s) to satisfy my lust for usable clothes pegs.

    Don't believe this.

I clicked on 'submit message' and yet another login request came up. I logged in and up came.....roll of drums..........The green version.

    Thank you angels.

I'm having a lazy day today, mainly reading and sewing, DGD stayed overnight as did my other DD's 2 dogs, she is having a birthday party today for her 2 years olds, there are 10 more 2 year olds attending. Her dogs love kids but they are a lurcher and a staffy and the children might find them a bit much.
The staffy needed to go in the garden at 5m DGD got up soon after to make cakes, they have green icing and green sprinkles, DGD says they are dinosaur cakes. She's gone home now with her cakes.
I have washing on all my lines I think it will dry, it is mainly DGS's uniform, I will iron it later.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Hello all. I have been hard pushed to find time to post recently so have had a quick skim .
Lovely to see Mcculloch . You sound really upbeat and glad to see Dr C is settled . I always give a smile when I read reviews on am*z*n because many times there you are and often up as the most useful review . At least I know to trust what you say !
Lovely to see Wondercollie but a pity it wasn't under better circumstances - how those who survived ever recover from such trauma is hard to imagine . I hope your son is ok and bless all those who go into these awful situations to do their jobs .
Monna PEGS - I have been buying the soft grip pegs from Lak*l*nd for many years and can heartily recommend them , they are so far as good as when I first started using them . As I have RA They are perfect for me and I would say very os as they are of a soft rubbery texture and do not snap or become brittle . I have only had to buy more when they have been kidnapped by various offspring over the years , they have now bought their own . i do not know if they have a store on the Island but they can be bought on the site and they have a shop on am as well
Sorry for the boring peg post all . It is os !!!
    Take care all
