chickens, what a lovely rewarding thing to do.
Pooky - Have a hug, you really are having a rotten time, I hope things improve for you very soon.

Got the stove fitted today but have to wait for the plaster to dry before it can be used. We have had a bit of a damp patch in DDs bedroom but there was a bird's nest up the chimney that had got stuck so it looks like that had got damp and the damp spread through the wall. I do hope that's the answer as the builder has been on the roof a couple of times to have a look to see if there's a leak.

    Hi all,
Pooky hope things start to get better soon ,isn't there a saying that you have to hit the bottom before you can go up , huge hug sent

Chickens ..love the hedgehogs ,I am like you ,would rather spend money on pet/wildlife stuff than new clothes

Washing machienes ,mines a miela ,if it died I would not hesitate to buy another ,would not even look at anything else,we bought ours from john lewis also ,better warranty,..before this one we used to kill new machienes about 1per 12 to 18 mths ....do at least 3 loads per day ,one very dirty builders clothes ..

NHS ...good and bad ...the same as any where ....normally worse the higher up the ladder they are ....
My problem at the minute is I am overdue a MRI scan ,normally sort them out myself ,but this time thought I would test the system ,so waited for my appointment ,received nothing ,rang hospital ,30mins to get through to secretory of consultant ,(locum) ,who hasent referred me !! Asked them to read the last letter that says MRI in 6 mth,....so its now 10 days since I spoke to them and still no appointment....scary thing is (for those of you that don't know) MRI scan is cause I have a Brian tumour ,I am very lucky that so far its has not caused to much memory loss ,if I was relying on them sending out appointments then heavens help me ,not a good sigh for the future .....!
Maybe that everyone is just under to much stress/ pressure/ overworked /tired/undervalued to do an effective job .......never mind, will sort next week

New stove envy, we would not be without our 2 ,1is on 24/7 eats wood ,but apart from time and sweat is free lol

Puppies now 4 weeks old ,getting so they can now escape from there box ,good fun ..

Club increasing its weekly turnover by about 35% ...so far so good ,just lots of work ,still putting the bricks in place ,so to speak to make things better, easy to run for the future ,but we are getting there ...I think

Plan on having I lie in tomorrow, no football yeah....

    Morning all,

Pooky I did wonder how things were getting on and I'm very sorry to hear its been so overwhelmingly difficult. All I can offer is big hugs and to say I'll be thinking of you in the coming days.

Burtha it is nice to see you and hear that the club is still getting on well. My OH coaches one of the school football teams and it is always nice when the season ends and we can sleep in on a Saturday. I've often wondered if sometimes the parents felt the same.;) Still, the kids love it and it is much needed fresh air for some of them.

I've only seen hedgehogs a few times. When my parents lived in Turkey they used to visit their back garden at night. I think it is probably far too built up around here for them, but hopefully I'll be able to host some in a future garden. I'll have to ask my mum if they've had any in Germany. I know she installed a house for them. It is wonderful to hear about them being rehabilitated.

OH comes back from the short residential trip with the pupils where they're taken to a sort of camping area. OH isn't particularly outdoorsey in spite of being taken on many camping holidays as a child so I think he'll be pleased to get home. Unfortunately the neighbour is still causing trouble, although I had word yesterday that progress is being made on the situation and that something will be done early next week.

Some variation on stuffed peppers for tea. I've got feta to go in them so I'll probably do some variation on this

I have another recipe that uses a tin of black beans and cous cous which is very tasty and very quick to put together.

I also need to plan the menus for next week today, only two more shops in the challenge although we've had to pick up milk and I forgot aubergines last week so had to get those at the more costly rate at Mr. T so I've had a few more setbacks.

Sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time Pooky. Sending virtual hugs and wishing a good recovery for you mum.

We bought a samsung washing machine a few weeks back and we like it so far. There are a lot of long cycles, but theres a 40 min daily wash too. I put the sheets in on a hot wash over a couple of hours and they came out looking so much better than in the top loader we had.

The nhs has good and bad for sure, in my case it was pretty bad for a few issues. They told me leg pain was imaginary (when I actually have a golf ball sized tumour), my stomach issues were IBS (nope, but I do have duodenal bile reflux which untreated caused chronic gastritis) and my tiredness was depression (I was b12 deficient). I don't mind paying over here because they've made me well.

Anyhoo, good news :T :j we accepted an offer on the flat. It's subject to various contract conditions, but if all goes well we'll sell in a month. A new record for speed of sale in the complex.... the average is a year :o

No hedgehogs around here, but there are apparently echidnas, though I haven't seen any. Hubby saw a koala on a local stroll one day, I hope to see him too.

:T Nice one on the sale, Softstuff, hope all goes smoothly and then you'll have some of the folding stuff available to get cracking on your house. Your appartment looked so lovely I'm not surprised it's beaten the sale records for your complex by 11 months, your hard work had paid off.

I've decided to spend the morning pottering around, attending to various small but nagging jobs around the homestead, and then go to the allotment this afternoon. I'm not well enough to work more than 2 hours or so per day up there, so it doesn't really matter which part of the day I use, and it's looking to be set fair here today.

Will be sowing some flower seeds up there today, I reserve a small area near the path for flowers. It gives me joy and is something nice for passers-by to enjoy, also. I have saved seeds, mostly various kinds of marigolds, plus sunflowers, plus a part pkt of cornflowers which someone gave me. Dunno if they're viable but I won't find out with them on the coffee table, will I?:rotfl:

Have a good day, lovely peeps.

Burtha glad to hear the club is doing so well! but  about your MRI. I hope you hear about a date for it this week!

So pleased for you about the sale Softstuff :T Sounds as if all your hard work was worth it!

fairyPrincess I hope your neighbours get properly sorted out very soon!

Today's "alarm clock" was someone going past at 7.40 having a blazing row on his phone at the top of his voice, complete with liberal use of the F-word. Lovely.

    Get well soon Petula.
Softstuff - Fantastic news, all that hard work has been worth it, hope the sales goes through ok.

I've stripped one of the settees and washed all the covers, just hope the line doesn't break! Went to the shops quickly to get a couple of bits, I was only out an hour so it was a good trip! Got everything I went for apart from some shoes for DD, she wants a pair of the Skechers Go Walks for work. I have a couple of pairs and I have to say they are the most comfortable thing I have ever worn, like slippers but for outside! They seemed to be really expensive in the shop I looked in, I'm sure I have seen them cheaper, will go for a bike ride to check.

The weather is dry with sunny spells but still not overly warm, still not time to put away all the winter stuff just yet.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

I think it is a little warmer today but yesterday the heating was on for about 6 hours and I was back in my winter coat again.
