As far as I am aware all washing machines are cold fill now. I've always been happy with Hotpoint & my current machine does a 30min 30 deg wash which is great for most of my washing. The other programmes can also be changed on the temperature. I remember a repair man telling me years ago that machines have 10 - 15 programmes and we probably only use about 3!

Mrs Veg plot....I do hope your ankle is slowly getting better , but you didnt reall y need the washing machine to go onb you....I bought a LG 9 kg load , its a beauty £434. October last year , thats the second LG iv had ...My lasy LG lasted 13 yrs, and never had a repair done on it , thats why I have a second one .........The one ive got is a dc motor directly drives the drum without belt and pulley and its doesnt have brushes , I use to have hotpoints and they were always breaking down needing new brushes .....

I did shop around on line and ended up buying with John Lewis , they were the cheapest , where id have thought they would have been the dearest, pays to shop around before buying.....The old saying is " you get what you pay for"........

Lyn....So glad to hear you have a hedgehog rescue near you , I rescued 2 babe last year , and one had an injured leg so I drove 22 miles to a vet on a Saturday afternoon, hence poor thing had to be put down ......Second one had been injured by ( vet said strimmer) that one survived after treatment .....The vets took my details and when they get any injured ones in and they treat them then contact me and I have them in my garden for rehabilitation , I feed them up and they reward me with visiting me every night and bring mates ...haha ......They are so fascinating to watch and they groan , snort and grumble at each other when they are feeding ........

Our 12 year old Hotpoint died last October and was replaced by another Hotpoint - it has variable spin & temperature, intensive/regular/light wash choices, short & fast washes, just spin or just rinse & spin...everything I want & use that DH hadn't selected on his previous washer!

What we noticed most was how quiet it was compared to the old one...you can have a conversation or listen to the radio in the kitchen now!

We bought ours from Mr T using Clubcard vouchers during one of their Boost thingys - I think it cost £6 or £7 pounds of real money ;)

    Evening gang

I've been MIA whilst life has been hectic beyond belief - I've tried to read along but it just hasn't happened.

Washing machines - we had to have a new one just after Christmas - ours seems to last around 3/4 years on average so I'm happy to pay around the £200 mark for one. A friend that pays around £600 + doesn't get any longer out of a machine and the clothes are probably no cleaner - but hey - each to their own.

NHS - without it my family would be pretty much dead and buried.....no complaints from me (I'd quite happily give them a few pointers on organisation though).

So since the end of January - our ginger cat was attacked by a fox/dog and lost a leg, 4 days after he came home Mum had a brain haemorrhage and was in hospital in London for 7 weeks following surgery, then transferred more locally for a couple of weeks before being released home to Dad who thought he could cope. We've all done out best to support and help but Dad found the end of his tether and we had to get Social services in for emergency help 2 weeks ago. Mum has 70% mobility back but severe cognitive issues (imagine having a 67 year old toddler around the place) but it is all set to improve, given time. Been dashing up and down the county to sort them out and support them whilst trying to make sure my business didn't fade out and trying to keep my girls together and cope with DH's disabilities......just thought we'd stabilised the boat on Tuesday when one of our beloved moggies got run over - she sadly didn't make it and luckily (?) a local neighbour found her and we were able to go pick up her body (the anguish of her not coming home would have been unbearable).

So all in all a pretty carp year so far but it could have been a lot worse. A huge thank you to the OS team that have kept my spirits up with messages and support on the FB group - You're all utter stars :)

NHS....I cant grumble about the nhs , as ive had 17 operations to date and 13 of those were done nhs, and being type 1 diabetic and the complications that goes with long term ive had more than what ive paid in ...The other 4 private operations were done as nhs wouldnt do my 2 foot ops , and I had 2 shoulder ops done cos at the time I would have had a 19 month wait for each op and I couldnt have looked after hubby with 2 broken shoulders........

I couldnt walk for 3 years without severe pain , and being 24/7 carer for hubby took its toll on me , that surgeon has given my life back.......They say money dont buy health , well in my case it did , because I was in agony and tired out with 2 bad feet for 3 yrs , now im happy that im pain free and can walk, its a beautiful feeling every morning I wake that I know I can walk ....My dog loves it too as for the first time in ages im taking him out for lovely beach walks , wood walks , life is wonderful if your well even if you havent got any money youve got your health........

Hubby as also had a lot of treatment from nhs he had never been to drs in 49 years until the day of the stroke and since then he as had so much treatment and care from 3 hospitals , so we wont knock the nhs ...If you need emergency treatment they are there 24/7....

Been to see hubby today and it was his first day out of bed for 11 days , dr has given him another 7 days antibiotics , he has a terrible cough which is wearing him down with the chest infection , but its going to take quite a while for it all to leave him........

I hooe you all have a peaceful sunny weekend , catch you all later....Sheila

Arh bless you Lyn , I just love wildlife and all that goes with it , id rather spend money on wildlife food than buy myself any new clothes........
