eDreams excessive hidden service charge

I booked EasyJet flights through eDreams. The flights cost £486.32 but when I clicked the final accept button the confirmation notice had a cost of £554.08. EDreams had charged an administration charge of £67.32. On the telephone their representative agreed that this was excessive and that his manager requested me to contact their customer service by email. Needless to say I have not had an acknowledgement or reply.
When typing in EasyJet flights into Yahoo search engine, be careful as the first address given is "easyjet.edreams.co.uk" which takes you to the eDReams web site!!!
I won't be near their site again. I had used eDreams in the past and there were no hidden costs so this must be a recent charge.

No one can sell low cost airlines for the same price as the airlines themselves. There are many, many complaints about Edreams on this forum and heaven help you if you need to contact them as they are based in Barcelona. Always go direct to a low cost airline website and book direct.

Did you see the final price before you agreed payment? If not, you could dispute the transaction with your card provider...

I disagree. Budgetair have sold me Flybe flights at a slightly lower price than the Flybe website before. Only about £3, but in combination with the £12 cashback through TCB that £15 saving was a very big chunk of the £80 fare.

Though I will agree that if you book via a site like that then you need to be prepared for it going wrong!

    Hi
I have just booked flights through edreams...stupidly did not read about them first. My friend had used them in the past and it went fine. I have just noticed on the confirmation email that it shows a final price of £212.83 but the price edreams will charge is £244.67 there is no explanation of this and it makes the cost even more expensive than I thought. I was booking with a friend and we went through last minute.com. I think she took the last available seats (i was booking at the same time and the seats disappeared as I was checking out so I could not finalise it) so I had to find someone else to book through. Edreams said there were seats and have said it is confirmed but I have not had an email to confirm the booking from Tap for the return flight whereas I have had one from Easyjet for the outward flight. My friend has had her TAP flight tickets confirmed.
    I paid by credit card....what should I do...HELP!

I have just checked with the credit card company and they say that the £212.83 is what has been charged. I also checked with TAP and the flight seems to have been booked. Although the final amount is more costly than if I had booked direct! I think it has cost me approx £50 more! Beware this company. I think it was a case of do something in haste and repent at leisure! Just hope the flight is not cancelled at the last minute as in some reviews I have read!
Their website was pretty poor I am usually much more savvy...end of the day and pressure!
  • A friend of mine has been conned into booking through edreams as it came up first on her search.

The site was so confusing she has ended up as Mr instead of Miss. She only has baggage out, thinking she was booking everything for return flights.

Now they want her to ring a premium rate phone number £1.02 per minute to give her passport details to complete the booking, and also to get her boarding cards. For both, they also want a handling charge without stating up front what it will be.

She will also have to get her title changed and book return baggage.

eDreams have provided what they say is the "email used during the reservation" plus the "Password used whilst making the reservation". The combination does NOT work on the EasyJet website.

Not only that, but the edreams email says "... EasyJet will send you their confirmation email that will serve as proof..." but no such email has arrived.

I have been able to enter her passport details onto the EasyJet web site by going in as "someone else made the booking", but that doesn't let me make the FREE amendment to her title. She is going to have to PAY to get a FREE amendment done.

I feel she has been ripped off and her only course of action is to incur further expense.

Sadly EasyJet is too busy today due to the appalling weather and its effect on flights, so I cannot get through to them on the phone.

Does her passport have a title?

If not, is a title really required?
