Sorry to pour cold water on this but at best they will be out of operation for 6 weeks. They will then be back. They know it. You now know it.

Small fine then business as normal. DVLA policy.

This a court handing down the punishment ( if CEL are found guilty ) not DVLA.

The parking firms are running the show in England and calling all the shots.
Big mistake thinking the same would wash in Scotland.
You have to admire the Scots, they have a set under them kilts.

its almost as if that article in the newspaper was written last week, it does,nt actually say anything apart from "there is a court case"

in typical newspaper fashion , its forgot to tell us what happened in court and the outcome

1:did the bosses of CEL turn up
    2:what were there names
    3:how did they plead
4:was a sentence passed or is the case adjourned5
5:if adjourned , when will this continue

The case mentioned above was a successful criminal conviction of another BPA member by the courts. The DVLA stopped access to the keeper details (on conviction only) for only 6 weeks.

This time round, it could be 6 or less as if you read it, the electronic link was reinstated on advice from the BPA - not the courts.

Any fine, will just be absorbed as a cost of doing business and passed onto keepers within 6 weeks or less.

The company "banned" by the BPA in September 2013 - one of the very rare expulsions - is back operating in Bradford outside either the BPA or the IPC scheme.

Don't be fooled by the show.

Can't wait to see a CEL POPLA appeal evidence pack soon (in England, obviously!) showing a £15 charge added on to cover 'fines incurred as a result of fraudulent activity' in order to get their GPEOL up to £100.

My crystal ball says the BPA will say this is simple clerical error and CEL inadvertently sent out their letters in error. Systems have now been put in place to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Scottish express are tied by laws what they can report on first appearance ,

they knew nothing of this company and the DEAL thing

they have now been informed of CELs activities in england , and have studied pranksters blog and this page ,

I have been promised a full report , inc the activities in England will be in the paper , and very possibly the English express as soon as possible after the trial

You're on a real roll with this now Freddy. Excellent work.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
