Still waiting for offer to be refused/accepted!

Put in offer last Monday, had to wait until this Monday as vendor was on holiday, STILL NO ANSWER, yesterday gave deadline for answer today (REMEMBER THIS WAS FIRST OFFER) that passed turns out it is a elderly brother and sister who own the house and one lives in Australia!! She can't get hold of him because of the time difference and can't make decisions without him. It is their late brothers house.
So what do I do? Offer full price (I think it is over priced but still like the house and get over and done with? about £15k) maybe fight at the end when surveys come in. And it needs ALOT of work.
Wait it out however my buyers have been waiting 2 weeks already and are getting fed up.
Walk away as this could turn into a nightmare when it comes to signing paperwork him being in Oz etc?
I have seen another house, it is not as good as this one but worth a punt??
I hate buying houses!

Calm down and relax. It sounds like you gave them a deadline and as they haven't met it you are willing to put another £15k in. The excuse about Australia and timing differences is, err an excuse. They are probably waiting for other offers before deciding if your bid is enough.
You choices are a) either wait and see or b) tell them seriously if I don't have an answer by x I am going elsewhere.
I bet you it is obvious to the estate agent that your deadline means nothing and therefore he has probably told the buyer something along the lines of 'we have one offer it's quite low, showing more people around this week so hopefully a higher offer from one of them'.0 -

I see the savvy vendors still got you by the short and curlys then!

No just fed up with waiting and all the BS so I will just walk0 -
Don't understand why you would be increasing the offer, if it really was an issue with contactability then throwing more money at it wouldn't solve the problem.
Like the others, my guess is that they're stringing you along to see if anything better comes up. Keep reminding yourself it's business, not personal. Likewise, your decision should be business and not personal.
How long did it take you to find your buyers? If they got fed up and wandered off, would there be others? If yes, sit tight. If no, offer on the other place.
Either way, keep viewing other properties as you are in no way committed at this point and it's the right time of year for loads to be coming on the market.0 -

The increase to asking price would mean she doesn't need to contact the brother and I could get it off the market.
I got my buyers in 2 days0 -
Remember when I said you were out of your depth and you replied 'not really'.

Unless her brother is stuck in the outback the whole 'he is in Australia we can't get hold of him' thing is just an excuse to keep you waiting.0 -
The more you chase and hassle the Estate Agent the less likely it is that the vendor will accept your original offer.0
