I don't think that answers my question.
This press release
http://www.ovoenergy.com/press-releases/2015/03/“stay-because-you-want-to--not-because-you-have-to”--independent-supplier-ovo-energy-scraps-exit-fees/
says they are scrapping exit fees across ALL tariffs.
I understand the rationale about exit fees for fixed tariffs but that press release contradicts it!
EDF have fixed tariffs with no exit charges.0 -
Have all Ovo Exit fees been scrapped?
From what I can see fixed rate deals still attract the £30 per fuel exit fee.I don't think that answers my question...
Why don't you think it answers your question?
You need to expand the appropriate question
I went to Contract Arrangements (although similar info may be available under another question)
What are exit or termination fees?
If your fixed plan started before 3rd March 2015, we’ll charge you £30 per fuel (including VAT) if you want to end the contract early. There aren’t any exit fees for our Simpler Energy variable-rate plan as you are not tied into a 12-month contract.
On 3rd March 2015 we scrapped exit fees for upgrading your plan or moving away from us. So if you renewed or joined OVO after then, you’re free to leave us or upgrade your plan whenever you want without paying a penny.0 -
Thanks for your reply I should have made myself clearer.
I have just my first bill from Ovo since renewing my fixed rate tariff and they are still showing the £30 exit fees.
I see UK Power are also showing the exit fees in their rates for Ovo http://www.ukpower.co.uk/gas_electricity_suppliers/ovo-energy/cheaper-energy-fixed-to-june-20160 -
Two points:
a. Why not contact Ovo and ask them the question?
b. If you renewed your fixed rate tariff BEFORE 3 March then you know what reply you will get. If AFTER 3 March then point out to them what it says on their own site. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes bills are showing exit fees even with new contracts after 3rd March 2015 .
Let them know .

That particular tariff was removed from sale to new applicants 21-Aug-2014
At the same time Cheaper Energy Fixed tariffs were replaced by Better Energy Fixed (online) tariffs.
On 03 March 2015, Better Energy Fixed (online) tariffs were replaced with Better Energy Fixed (all online) tariffs.
(These are Ovo tariffs, not to be confused by a supplier with a similar name)
There are no early termination fees for this latest version

(Various versions with different tariffs applied, dependant on when you applied)0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I am on the Online discount and I wanted to make sure I was right before contacting them!0 -
Althoiugh my fixed tariff expired after the change date, I had signed up for a renewal before the change in tariff prices. Ovo have honoured the lower prices, and kept the £30 termination fee. It's worth checking which price rate they are charging you as this may be what has happened to you.0

As both the OP and myself signed up well after the change date it looks more like a mistake on Ovo billing system .0
