Ovo Exit Fees Scrapped .
Options
Just noticed a change to Ovos policy on exit fees from yesterday .
http://www.ovoenergy.com/help-info/faqs/#General1
BUT NOTE PRICES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TARIFFS INCREASED .
Quote .
If your fixed plan started before 3rd March 2015, we’ll charge you £30 per fuel (including VAT) if you want to end the contract early. There aren’t any exit fees for our Simpler Energy variable-rate plan as you are not tied into a 12-month contract.
On3rd March 2015 we scrapped exit fees for upgrading your plan or moving away from us. So if you renewed or joined OVO after then, you’re free to leave us or upgrade your plan whenever you want without paying a penny.

Quote OVO doesn’t charge exit fees. You should stay because you want to, not because you have to. Unquote; however, ........
The deal that I could have got last week for 2400kWhs of electricity and 10400kWhs of gas per annum has increased from £709.88 to £758.79 per year. The expression 'smoke and mirrors comes to mind.'This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes i just noticed my new fix that Ovo offered has gone up in price since last week .
This no exit fees would have been a definite buy at the tariff quoted last week .0 -

Are you saying their prices have increased recently?
I just did a comparison and they are still coming up about half a dozen places down the page for me (using slightly less energy than you), at about the same price as they were last month
That's now showing for me on their "Better Energy Fixed (All Online)" Tariff.
I get even better prices by selecting single suppliers, hence why I'm not currently supplied by Ovo. But apart from price, no complaints about Ovo here. Hence I would be interested in possibly going back to Ovo when my current deals end ... but not if their prices are going in the opposite direction to all the other suppliers.0 -

The comparison sites are reflecting today's prices not tomorrows. The figure above was a quote based on my projected consumption taken directly from Ovo's site today. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Presumably as you have now been offered the deal, they will continue to honour that if you wish to go ahead. If you haven't actually started the new tariff yet, you should still get the no early exit fee according to what is written0 -
Taken from Ovo's website:
Following an upward shift in wholesale energy costs, we announced a 5.2% price increase on 00.01am Tuesday 3rd March 2015 on our 12-month fixed tariffs (Better Energy and Greener Energy). These changes only affect new and renewing customers and is largely a reflection of a 10% uplift in gas and 6% uplift in power costs caused predominately by political unrest in Ukraine since OVO’s last price drop in January.
On 00.01am Sunday 01st March we dropped our variable prices by 5.8% (based on the average duel fuel customer), with gas prices decreasing by 10.4%. These changes only affect customers who’ve chosen or rolled onto our variable rate plan (Simpler Energy). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've just done a check direct on the Ovo site.
It confirms I can apply today for the "Better Energy Fixed (All Online)" Tariff at the same annual cost as the independent comparison says. Presumably it has no early exit fee (and that's what the independent comparison site states)0 -
Yes the OVO Live Chat confirmed the price increase .
My Quote
Gas was 2.88 S/C 24.66
Elec was 10.57 S/C 24.66
Exit fees £30 per fuel .
TODAY
Gas 3.07 S/C 26.03
Elec 11.29 S/C 26.03
No Exit fees
Slightly higher prices via Energy Club than those i posted under today's price .0 -

LOL
I thought energy companies claimed they bought their energy 2 years in advance? At leat that the excuse for not lowering prices as soon as wholesale prices fall...
Russia hadn't invaded Ukraine 2 years ago.0 -
Have all Ovo Exit fees been scrapped?
From what I can see fixed rate deals still attract the £30 per fuel exit fee.0
