I think all regulars need a sabbatical from time to time. The mind-numbing, repetitive 'I can't find a case that exactly matches mine' (aka 'I parked at 10:03; I've found others where they parked at 10:02 and others where they parked at 10:04, but none at 10:03 - help, help, help, what can I do, will they take my telly? I can't possibly live without Corrie!'), just wears you down.
While I still read all the threads, I'm being a bit more selective, of late, in responding. No doubt I'll revv back up in a few weeks time, I'm sure. Just taking a slight breather, after more than 2 years' of flat-out keyboard pounding; I'm sure that will help me regenerate.0 -

This year I am not being quite so "good", what with Beavis appeal, CEL/DEAL seeming to come to a head, the Proserve scam also unwinding, all worth monitoring. I skim read the relevant threads, but only post on very few (like this one), and not the run-of-the-mill "Help, DR+ say they're taking me to the cleaners" threads.
I, too, have backed off from replying to most threads. The pool of internet parking gurus has increased over the last year and some good advice is coming out from them. However, it's a bit Groundhog Day most of the time, apart from the specific areas you mention.
What will be interesting is to see if the "New POPLA" move more to the IAS stance with GPEOL (subject to Beavis CoA of course).0 -

I too feel the same way as umkomass, slithy tove , guys-dad etc
there are a lot of ungrateful people that just hit and run the forum, read nothing, have little or no common sense and just expect regulars to spend an hour replying on each and every case, even if there are dozens of other threads about it
especially airport ones like LUTON, DONCASTER , BIRMINGHAM , LIVERPOOL , or the Peel Centre , or quite a few others where nothing new can be said as its all been done to death
quite a few of these people who arrive here show no respect for the forum , bedding in and having a read, its just I WANT all the time, for free, with little regard for those giving the advice and acting like snotty nosed brats in their replies (like shooting the messenger)
I took a sabbatical a few months ago and am thinking of doing so again, apart from where the more intersting stuff comes up like Beavis, Deal , COOP , scotland court cases etc0 -
I've said it before and I will probably say it again but my thoughts are wot Red said.0

I obviously have my own thread going, but I am much more interested in the policy/legal argument side of things. Like a few others have said above, repeating yourself over and over, because people can't be bothered to help themselves, doesn't interest me.
However, I am grateful to this forum and PEPIPOO as I would never have got so far with my thread, without the invaluable help, advice and moral support.
There was one thread the other day and I suggested they take to pepipoo, but instead googling it, (s)he came back and asked if someone could post a direct link to the site.
People have to help themselves first and foremost.0
