The problems with towels is that they are heavy and could push the price of the courier up even morel
This is an issue with Royal Mail but probably wouldn't be with other carriers who charge a flat rate for parcels up to a large size and weight limit. You can pack very defensively and would be wise to do so!

    Thanks again all.

I put it as First Class or Second Class Signed For, with a price of £15. I've probably messed that one right up as it is quite heavy. I'm thinking maybe about 2KG. I will find out tomorrow when I post it.

I put the actual laptop in 3 layers of bubble wrap and then put it in the box which I then bubble wrapped a few times and then put in a thick liner. I went on the prowl for a LARGE box today but could not find one.

Next time I have an old laptop, I will just send it off for recycling or something. This was far too much hassle. Lesson learnt.

Thanks again all for taking time to reply. Much appreciated.

Hopefully if you are only using signed for you have had a good read of the sticky postage thread as advised.
