IMO they should give anything that didn't include anyone else's personal information - specifically whether or not there was a policy in place and the period of insurance. Neither of these pieces of information breaches any else's right to have their personal data kept private, and is all the OP needs.

No. As the OP is not the policyholder, no policy specific details could be disclosed, only specific personal information about the OP.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

This would (should) be sufficient to answer the OP's question about ascertaining whether they are on the policy or not - even if they can't then do anything about removing themselves.

It would only tell her if that insurer has her details - not that they are held against a current policy. Presumably she gave permission at some stage so the insurer could legitimately hold their details for a few years in case a claim comes in.

This all assumes that she knows the identity of the insurer therefore who to write to.

OP, if he has changed insurer you will have no way of knowing.
