Tuesday 3 March - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:money:

Sorry to be a bit stupid Ziggy, but how does this work???Joining Day Debts: £28933.09 - 01/03/15

Morning All
Ziggy glad your kitchen is looking fab. It's part of the house you'll be in so often it makes a huge difference to make it lovely.
Time to change -good luck with your NSD
Today, have the window cleaner and electrician back at the shop. The insurance is paying for the electrician so that's good. Just a few plug sockets to put back on now. Will be good to see the windows clear of all the dust and crud that's built up.
This morning have checked the banking, many of the big bills have now gone out.
Had another small credit from music magpie for £12 so will chop that off a credit card.
Wondering about moving my son's CTF after seeing the news this morning regarding the government allowing movement into junior ISAs from April. I have stopped paying into that account due to poor performance. I went for a UK index tracking product via The Share Centre but compared to the Scottish Mortgage savings account we have with Baillie Gifford the performance was shocking. So the chance to move it is welcome. What are other parents doing with their CTFS?
Husband and son both sent off with their lunches for the day. Can stretch supplies for a meal tonight as well so may get my first NSD this month.
Think that's it for me.
nice to see so many people joining in the thread yesterday.

Morning all

Thanks for starting us off Ziggy.
My list for today:
Check banks Done
Aim for a NSD Nothing spent
Meals from stores Done
Make a big pot full of steak and kidney pie filling from various bits in the freezer along with some veg from the fridge, make a pie later and freeze the rest for another time. Done
Make a cake as the tin is empty
Cake is not good for waistlines, I know, but it stops OH buying rubbish from the shops, and at least I know what goes in it. Done
Clean stairs and big rug in lounge, change throws in lounge as they look grubby. Cleaning done but not throws
Sort out fridge Not done yet
More decluttering - list pile of unwanted books on facebook free page. Saves me carting them to the book bank, as we have road works and the traffic is awful (too heavy to walk with). No point dragging them to the CS in town either, as they aren't taking books at the moment :(We only have 2 charity shops here so no competition for donations unfortunately. Anyway, hopefully someone would like them
Just waiting for them to be collected
Plant tomato seeds (didn't get around to this yesterday) Done
Heating off, but will light the woodburner later if it is chilly (it is at the moment but fine if I don't sit about!!) Did turn it on for a while when DD appeared with baby. Didn't want her to be cold
Get clothes etc ready for tomorrow as I have a hospital appointment, which means a very early start, as the hospital is miles away
Will do this in a minute when the books have been collected
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning DFW-Jedis,
Well, life goes on, as does the almost everlasting quest for solvency and sanity.
Today is a day off and our village is blanketed in snow.
The List:
:starmod: [STRIKE]Check online banking and reconcile monies.[/STRIKE]
:starmod: [STRIKE]Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight. [/STRIKE]
:starmod: Write a review of the linguine that we had last nice free of charge from Tesco as part of Tesco Orchard product testing. (Link)
:starmod: Liaise with MP's secretary to try to get the 6 weeks' mysteriously missing Tax Credits that we are owed from October 2014. She says that we should get it, as we are entitled, but it could be another 42 days.
:starmod: Walk to local shop instead of drive as snow too deep and drive with be slow and frustrating.
:starmod: Dress warmly to stay comfortable.
:starmod: Drink homemade lemsip-alternative: hot water, lemon juice, honey, ground ginger and two paracetamols on the side.
:starmod: Do i-Say surveys.
That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Jedis.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
