Isn't that what happens in Scotland? Their system is just so much better.
I have no idea, but it would be a good element to add to our existing system (although that option is there in reality). I always have a Full Structural survey done before instructing a solicitor to proceed with enquiries etc as the survey is more important to me initially and is a fixed/cheaper price, that I will have to spend anyway.
It pointless waiting for replies to enquiries/searches only to find you have an issue which is a deal breaker.
If i'm not happy, I offer accordingly or move on, but with my last purchase, the vendor had lived there for over 25-30years and that was evident e.g styles and materials of the days (70's was the last decorative state). An older house always needs a bit of work however.
The flat roof that had 'outlived it's usefulness' is still standing and other elements on the survey were flagged were of little significance. No complaints about the surveyor though, he did what I asked/paid for - he was thorough.0
