  • Look at 300 ish per upvc and 500 + for a door so I’d say high without knowing sizes, styles etc

Brightontraveller is that £300 per window on average just for fitting, or including the actual window itself?

    Regards

Edit: Probably fitting so ignore me!

300 includes Window and fitting total FENSA CERTAS cert etc depending on size openers etc you might get it cheaper..

So many fall for the bigger companies with there 50% off, bogof etc but most of the time you pay more than you would even with all the discounts etc than you will with a smaller independant? Someones gotta pay for those naff adverts, annoying cold callers, reps car etc

As a matter of getting the best deal . please do not mention that Anglian have quoted for the job because this would bring a smile to me. I recently went to a job to price for the house and after the lady went into so much detail on how she knew my mum and remembered me as a baby in my big blue pram etc etc snotty nose etc etc curly hair etc etc I could have quoted double and still got the contract .

£300 per DG uPVC window AND fitting???

    Wow!

The best I've got was about £1600 for 3 windows (Victorian flat with tall windows mind you), this was a local company. A larger, regional firm quoted £1900 for "A-rated" windows.

Im sure if they are bigger windows the price goes up . the 300 is a standard fit in a standard house maybe one big one small and one about in between . 3 big will be more . yesterday a brick to brick bungalow 1 x 1680 x 1480 & 1 x 600 x 1190 .i quoted 370 & 270 fitted so 640 for the job. the bigger window is toughened glass with two top openers so the 300 a windows about right and the extra 40 was a little extra for the toughened .swings and roundabouts

Thank you! Very useful to know.

Out of interest, does your username hint at your location?!

I ask as I'm rather close to Brighton myself ;) :rotfl:

I've just had a couple of quotes from local companies to replace our old double glazing with standard white upvc, nothing special.

6 windows plus new French doors - £5000-5200

Take off the French doors and it's around £4000.

    Good or bad?

The biggest window is the lounge at approximately 2.4m x 1.1m for which they gave a rough price of £875.
