Yeeeeah Carrie! Nice to see you back. Focusing on shoulds is a sure way to messing up your mind. So good to be positive.
I'm very good at convincing myself that I'm superhuman, then coming down to earth with a large bump!
I'm currently trying to concentrate on switching off. It's not something I'm very good at. I have a tendency to think it's laziness if I'm not constantly productive. Very silly state of mind!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Andy - How have you managed to pay off so much in a month? Im in awe of you. Amazing.
.
Hi bob
Not by skimping on coffees. Having written of my car i had a LBM and sold my camper van, all except £1500 which i bought a new car with went toward debt repayment (and has saved me a packet in insurance tx etc) It was a big step and i was lucky to have such an asset to sell to bump my debt saving. The rest will be much more of a slog.

Hello All
Crickey is it March already. I have been awol for far too long. Have not been posting for several reasons - no home PC a main one (plus have decided not to post from work PC - too personal!).
Anyway, handy hubby has cobbled together this PC (somehow from bits and pieces we already had - he did use to work in IT....)
I am still seeking solvency but we have had a huge knock with the car having taken the best part of £2000 (mad I know but it's been going on since the end of November in bits and pieces) to get it through the MOT - and it's still not quite right, going back to the garage tomorrow as OH says it sounds like a vuvuzela if he goes more than 60.
On a more positive note I am still getting lifts to work, making a big pan of soup for packed lunches, meal planning and shopping at Aldi, gift cycling for birthdays, walking the dogs for exercise, keeing the heating off, not using the tumble dryer and so on an so forth.
Today son2 started a new job - he walked out of his other one after 2 weeks so fingers crossed he sticks at this one.
Got home from work today to find sons girlfriend had made a huge pan of chilli - a great surprise and meant OH and I could do a nice long walk in the last of the sunshine (not warm though - had to wrap up).
Best wishes to you all x0 -

Yeah I start work Wednesday. Pretty much all sorted. Go to see childminder tomorrow evening to finalise details. Draughtiness ideal leaving the little one, I've always been so protective of this one. She's been trouble since the moment she was born :-D
Won't be on a great deal more income, but it will help that bit more and allow me to keep debt repayments going xxDebt Remaing £315 :jBreath out the past, Breath in the futureBig Dreams Start Small0 -
Hi all,
Once again, apologies for the long post but I've not posted in a fortnight:
So I have done lately:
- Won at court! The minor traffic offence charges from 10 years ago were dropped
- Researched a case law to help OH at work, contacted his union, drawn up a plan
- OH is coming off his prescription, but it's going so well and better than ever before!
- Had payday, paid off my od and hopefully keeping it that way. All major monthly expenses done and still have £320 left
- Spent half our usual budget on our weekly takeout by going to the chippie instead.
- Opened an account with Nationwide - including popping in branch to give ID
- Got first direct to waive some bank charges, and opened a savings account with them too
- Switched to 12-month payment for water, reducing our monthly bill (was 8-month before)
- Brought lunch into work today and on Friday, saving ~£9. Trying to make a good habit out of this
- I was actually off work earlier last week. Although I won't be paid for the first 3 days, at least I didn't spend either!
- OH bought a new phone after 8 years! We bought at CPW, with a 12 month sim and therefore received £50 off the handset, making it £60 for a Lumia 635!
- Bought some jeans to replace my favourite, well-worn pair which have now torn
- 23 hours of overtime this month, so an extra £300 to put in the piggy bank in a fortnight
- OH received a bonus at work, just enough to reach halfway to our savings
- Cleaned the house on Sunday. OH and I have a goal to keep the house spick & span for a month, then we will look at adding a dog to our family!
- Made a big batch of food throughout the week, this is now a habit. Mixing lentils with mince bulks the dishes out
- Spent £20 on the weekly shop, hope this lasts0 -
Today I cancelled our mystery shopper meal for tonight, I know most of it would be reimbursed but we'd still have ended up paying a few pounds so it was a false economy.
Breakfast from stores at work and lunch from home.
Got a £5 voucher for flowers courtesy of the Tesco Orchard scheme so I will give them to DH to give to DS to surprise me with a bunch of flowers for Mothers Day
Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100
