Nowhere - because unlike you we try to offer useful advice about how to deal with the situation they find themselves in and everybody has the lawful right to challenge an amount someone is trying to claim they owe them.
I know Harry Potter Time Turners are available on ebay for a few quid but you do know they don't work don't you?
You seem extremely rule bound.
Thank god that throughout history there have been people who, unlike you, have been willing to challenge both rules and laws that were wrong.
Where would we be without them?1 -
What's this got to do with the Original Poster's problem at Matalan?
You're on a crusade, and you won't let it drop, even though when you signed up for this forum there would have been a condition that you agree not to hijack other people's threads.
See, even someone as perfect as you can break rules now and again.
I AM offering advice. Dont put yourself in a situation where things like this happen! The whole Parking Company thing can be fixed by people playing by the rules. Oh so I have the right to challenge laws and rules? Fine - just let me know whey you are next off your drive-way and I will come and park on YOUR land! I dont need a sign telling me NOT to park there - I know I shouldnt, but hell, whats the worst thing that can happen? There are always forums around that can offer me advice to get away with it when caught???? And I am NOT on a crusade. I posed a very simple question and was met with an Automatic Defense Mechanism that appears to come into play with the posters here. You appear to think that anybody who doesnt necessarily agree with you is automatically AGAINST you and 100% wrong. Have a read of my post regarding the hypothetical situation in a shop car park and let me know your thoughts. I will move it to a different thread, so as not to be accused of hijacking if you wish.0 -

It's all very well trying to fall back on rules, but that assumes they are fair in the first place and (even if they are fair) that they are fairly and equitably applied. This latter point is usually where the PPCs fall down, trying to make it one rule for drivers and another for themselves. If the rules of the PPCs are so equitable, why need the appeals process and why are appeals allowed on the basis that PPCs haven't played fair on their part?1 -
Still not looked up the definition of sanctimonious, I see.

Good point. Even POPLA stats show that the number of winning appeals is over 40%.
Any business that depends upon the transgression of "customers" to cover its costs and make a healthy profit needs to ensure that sufficient people contravene and that the odds are in their favour. And they do that by all sort of underhand methods, no attempt to mitigate their own "losses" and absolutely no leeway for genuine mitigating circumstances.1 -

We are all in agreement then. Council fines of £25 rising to £50 seem to work in discouraging overstays, and coincidentally are roughly equivalent to the GPEOL incurred in issuing a charge. Moreover, a level of charge at council fine level was stated as allowable in the Beavis appeal.I am (at present) talking about the individuals who blatantly and deliberately park inappropriately.
Nobody is condoning that.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post
Default PCN with an none completed Date on it
Hi All,
I have read the newbie posts on this, but want to run this past a few of you forum members with knowledge in this field.
I recently had a PCN attached to my windscreen for parking in my sisters works car park space (on private land and rented at £20 a month to my sister via her company) with out a permit. Stupid I know but it was a Saturday afternoon and they only work Mon-Fri, and have parked there many times before with no issue.
So where exactly have you told this poster that he/she shouldnt have parked thereand shouldnt do it again? He/she has gotten away with it alot apparently, but apparently the parking company is just scum trying to scam money out of him/her?
There are loads of posters on here like this. You broke the rules, you got caught.
You are very selective in your responses. You have been given chapter-and-verse on why your look-at-me-how-clever-I-am world view is wrong and you choose to ignore almost every point made to you.
I've had enough of your hijacking of this thread, your allegations of theft when the OP made a simple mistake, and your refusal to engage with the points made to you in response. You are verging on troll-dom and you are now in my blocked list.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Ah, the 'parking on my driveway' argument. We don't see that argument on here very often.
There's a small difference between someone's private driveway which is intended for the owner's use only, and a Matalan Car Park where Matalan actively encourage members of the public to drive in and park there in order to spend money in their store.
I've not called you 'wrong' yet, so don't know why you've raised that.
I've had a look at your hypothetical scenario, and my take on it is that it bears no relevance whatsoever to the original poster's scenario, so is not helpful here in the slightest.
Generally though, abusing landowner's rights on here is not condoned.
I suggest you do start a new thread, your hijacking of this one is deplorable.Je Suis Cecil.1
