You are right -- I am with Daligas and didn't realise they had dropped their tariff. Will existing customers automatically move onto the new rate?

As Daligas don't charge you to leave, I wonder if they will just let you change to the new tariff on request rather than going through the hassle of changing supplier..

    Anyone asked them?

    Regards

It seems that if you make the request, they will change you to the lower tariff.

    My email:

    Subject: Daligas Fix 12

I note that there is now a new tariff and standing charge. Will I automatically move onto this new lower tariff or do I have to apply?

    Daligas reply:
Thank you for your email and we will take this as a request which we are dealing with.

    You will receive details soon.

    Regards

This mail is sent from daligas Ltd http://www.daligas.co.uk

I can't be sure, but Zog may have changed their policy on that. A comparison site I use says that Zog are happy to accept IGT customers.

Lol, I just checked and it is right on the Zog home page!

Yes that is a very recent, and most welcome, change by Zog. :)

Switched from Daligas One to Daligas One Fix 12.
They were busy when I rang so I left my numer and they rang back within 10 mins. They just needed a reading and the paperwork should arrive within the next 2 weeks. Standing charge only £30.66 a year now and just over 3p per kwh - saving around £70 for the year.
I've had no problems with Daligas. I am however still waiting for the final paperwork from SSE, apparently they had a software problem last year and couldn't do it at the time.

Received an invoice today for the old rate, they will take the balance (being the end of winter) on 10th April and have reduced my dd for the next 12 months. Very happy with their service so far.

Thanks for the real world update, with hindsight I should have stayed with them. Sadly they reacted to the Gas price decrease much more slowly than the Big Six.

They do seem OK. As above, if you change to the lower tariff they will bill you for money owed on the old tariff and start again from zero. You need to send them a meter reading at the changeover point.

The fix 12 seems to be a very good rate indeed at the moment.

I actually like the simplicity of this company and their habit of getting the bills right, something Scottish Power cannot manage.

    FYI

I changed from Daligas to NPower last week, then they dropped their price from today with a new Fix 12 deal GRRR!

Standing charge cut by just over 50%, a bit of a reduction in the kWh rate + a possible £17 cashback is tempting me to go back.

I think that you may be paying from the date you join now, not after a months grace, only someone who joins up could confirm that as the comparison site may have it wrong?

This is one time I wish that a utility had asked me to stay.

I don't work for Daligas or I would have told them to sort this out before :rotfl:

I hope this helps someone thinking of changing supplier as every penny counts :A

I also changed from Daligas to NPower recently, I've checked the difference and NPower {Online price fix May 2016) is still cheaper than Daligas.

I have just rechecked on my 15700 kWh estimate (Older house and old boiler) and personally I am £16.25 a year worse off with Npower + I could get another £17 cashback if I changed back to Daligas, which I probably will before next winter.

    The figures:
Daligas Standing charge 8.400 pence per day
    3.035 pence per kWh

N Power Standing charge 9.692 pence per day
    3.108 pence per kWh

    Cheers

I'm no great fan of Daligas (see my post in the Daligas feedback thread)

But even with this latest price reduction, depending on usage and supply region, there may be cheaper alternatives.

e.g. by using a comparison site, I found that from as little as 5420kWh per year (average annual consumption is 13500kWh), it can become cheaper elsewhere and once you get to average annual consumption levels there is a heaper option in almost half of the supply regions.

    But cost alone isn't everything.

According to at least comparison site
Please also note that your Daligas contract will not cover the cost of repairs to your gas meter.
    http://www.ukpower.co.uk/gas_electricity_suppliers/daligas/daligas-one-fix-12

This appears to be borne out in Daligas's own terms:
7b. Maintenance of gas reader and equipment

You will be responsible for the maintenance of the gas meter and equipment at your expenses (sic). daligas has no responsibilty for the operation or safety of the gas meter and gas equipment in your premises.
    www.daligas.co.uk/wp-content/terms/daligas_Terms_And_Conditions.pdf

Whilst repairs to meters are rarely required, although I believe they are generally replaced every 20 years to ensure accuracy is maintained, this is not only a very unique exclusion in the domestic gas supply business (and may even be in breach of their supply licence?), personally I wouldn't have a clue who I could go to to get a repair to a supplier's meter if not the supplier.

Or maybe this is just a longwinded Daligas term to say they will charge you extra for such meter maintenance? (making other suppliers even more appealling)
