  • Make sure the new brushes are the same, even if they say they are for your model check the pictures. Also just replace each side like for like...

My Beko had the same problem. It was not a duff motor.
It was ,I think, caused by items in pockets etc. working their way through the drum into the outer casing. The drum totally seized up.
The drum casing was welded and I couldn't get access to see. A new drum was £180 so I scrapped the machine.
Mine may have been a different model - I hope that yours is an easy fix.
    Forgotten but not gone.

If it's an ICE motor, these are the brushes you want:

Don't be tempted to change only the short one-you must change both, and blow out the carbon dust before fitting.
Accessing the motor is 90% of the job: once it's out, changing the brushes is easy.
I'm amazed that a lightly used machine has eaten a set of brushes in less than 4 years though-even a Beko should last longer than that.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Thanks all.

New carbon brushes seem to have done the trick

    £7 fix-I'll take that.

The motor probably sounds tinny now and will probably do so for the next 4-5 washes, especially when spinning.

I just hope you blew out as much carbon dust out the motor as you could.

It did sound a bit different.

Spinning a lot faster as well.

    I did blow some out.

Just have to wait and see on that one.

All you have to do is anchor it to the floor with cables now to stop it going into orbit.

    Good Job by the way
