I want to take her to the vets for her first injection but I think she needs a week or so to settle in.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Tesuhoha - think about insuring BEFORE first vet visit, like 2 weeks before, just to be safe as just in case, insurance does not normally cover anything that comes up within the first 2 weeks of you taking out a policy xx0

Thank you. Good tip. I have requested an appointment for Thursday week at the Pets At Home Companion Care vet near us. It has glowing reviews and is only 5 minutes by car. Also easy to park.
I have ordered her this carrier.

Am going to look up insurance now but Pets At Home seem to have some sort of plan. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
I don't think we are getting the other kitten now because the breeder has stopped answering my emails. I asked if we could visit to meet the kitten and she never replied.
I think she wasn't very happy about this one and also she kept trying to persuade us to invest in an electronic cat fence. Unfortunately, our garden is only small and I want Poppy to have her freedom eventually when she is ready. She is going to be spayed before she is allowed out.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Any advice on pet insurance? The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

If you're going to insure, I'd go with Petplan. Reliable, good value for cats and vets generally deal directly with them so no claim forms to submit.
The electric fence sounds a bit harsh:) Glad you knocked back that idea. Best idea for cat fencing I ever saw was at Ernest Hemmingway's house over on Key West. Can't remember the company name, but it was net fencing that angled inwards to stop the cats climbing. Saying that, not sure how well those cats could climb with 6 toes anyway!0 -
Poppy has been showing affection today. First of all she came over to me and cuddled against me and put her head on my arm.
Later she was playing with her scratching post and meowed at me. I thought 'she can't possibly be asking me to pick her up' and then she took a flying leap at my leg and started to climb up. So I picked her up and she was snuggled up looking all around. I just couldn't believe it.
When I came back from shopping my husband said she knew it was me coming in and she came towards me.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Petplan - every time. It is the only insurance that covers dental for cats.
But pls insure 2 weeks before the very first vet visit, just in case....
Poppy wants a cuddle? That is great0 -
