I sold the wedding and engagement ring my ex had bought me to put towards my subsequent wedding. They meant nothing to me, I'd have never worn them and it was the last thing I had to let go of.

If they mean nothing to you, then sell them.

I agree that gold is not worth as much as we are led to believe though!

You can't sell your husband's ring as it belongs to him.

Can't I? I never actually thought about that

He probably hasn't worn it for 10+ years and probably has no idea where it is or if I have it somewhere

You'd need to at least offer it to him first.

    It's still his.

    Looks like he's lucky.

Regardless of him not having worn it, or not knowing where it is, it still belongs to him.

To sell it would be extremely immoral - and illegal.

Divorces are cheap as chips online.....

No they aren't, the online service just charges you a fee to fill in the forms not for the divorce, you will then pay exactly the same that the courts charge as well as the online fee, so its cheaper actually filling your own forms in.

OP there is a fee remission on the divorce fee if you are on certain types of benefit or have a disposable income of less than £3000. Have you looked into that instead?

With the prices of gold as they are you might be better of selling your jewellery privately too.
