I was flying from Belfast to Birmingham with flybe for a meeting at the NEC. My flight was cancelled and I was given a flight to East Midlands. I had to find my own way to Birmingham at my own expense and arrived at the meeting two and and a half hours late.
Do I have a right to claim compensation because I did not arrive at the correct destination? Any advice is welcome.

Hi shanellem,
This is what the regulations say....
3. When, in the case where a town, city or region is served by several airports, an operating air carrier offers a passenger a flight to an airport alternative to that for which the booking was made, the operating air carrier shall bear the cost of trans- ferring the passenger from that alternative airport either to that for which the booking was made, or to another close-by desti- nation agreed with the passenger.
What this means is that they should have offered you transport form EMA to either your original destination or the NEC.
If you got a taxi that you paid for yourself you can reclaim that cost.
Please read Vaubans superb guide and then follow the link at the bottom of it to regulation 261/2004 right at the end. Read the bit about cancellation.
When were you informed about the change to your flight and how much later or earlier did you land at Nottingham?
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
If your flight was cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice, you are also due compensation under the regulation.
But please re- post this on the Flybe thread, not one of your own amongst hundreds of others...If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
