Virgin, terrible reception/connection at home

When I joined Virgin, I was supposed to get a decent connection at home, and did. However, for some time now it's been terrible, but before I get involved with someone in darkest Egypt or India, does anybody know if they have a similar system to some SPs whereby you can phone via your home wifi?

    Some SPs supply a box which presumably connects to your router, and you then make and receive mobile calls via this.

    3 have an app via which you connect with your router/wifi, my wife has just started using this and has found a significant improvement.

    So it looks as if I'll have to phone Virgin's CS! :(
