Not sure whether this is the right forum but

As of next year the government plan to cap care fees at £72k so you don't have to sell your parents home to pay for their care

My question is to the self righteous (text removed by MSE Forum Team) who pontificated about their tax dollar every time care fee funding was mentioned on this forum

Interesting. You are not sure if this is the right forum, yet you expect answers from these self-righteous people, who may not even be here.

I hang out here, and I've no idea who you are talking about, or whether the government's mooted plan is fair or not. In any event, by next year we might have a different government.

The forum for ravers and general abuse is 'Debate House Prices....' in Martin's broom cupboard along the corridor on the left, just past the water pipes. ;)

I'm more angry about the fact we moved to the dollar without anyone telling me.

Me too, but at least we haven't woken up to everything in Euro's this morning ;)

Could you kindly help us Jethro, by suggesting which pontificating self-righteous (text removed by MSE Forum Team) you were desirous of receiving comment from, please?

Whilst there are a variety of opinions and posters hereabouts - free speech being a great British tradition we must all fight for - I cannot think of any member who fits your colourful characterization.

    Cheers!

I'm a good British (note not English) citizen, and alsways pay my tax demands in £ stirling.

I shall continue to do so even if I wake up to find the demand made in dollars.

  • I don't know what people the OP is referring to, but I think they should abolish altogether having to sell your home for your care. It's a disgraceful rule, and should never have been put into place.

Hopefully if a new Government do get in, they will abolish this practice, along with the ghastly car crash of a policy that's known as the bedroom tax.

Then they can stop bullying and victimising disabled people, and accusing them of lying about being ill, and restore people's disability benefits.

Next, they can quit sanctioning people for not turning up for a job interview ONCE.

Next, they can reduce the uni fees as promised. I still think they should be free if a student has got high grades in their A levels (2 A's and a C, or 2 A's and a B, or 3 A's, or 3 B's.)

In other words, they can stop destroying people's lives, and people's futures.

But maybe I am living in a dream world. :D

    Great idea...

Are you willing to pay tax at the levels needed to finance all this?

    I will if you will...
