  • What if, like me, you have a BB but are only entitled to claim a 50% reduction exemption!? This is nuts.

    - blue badge entitlement is nothing to do with a disability award
    - but a disability award is an automatic [administrative] entitlement to a blue badge
    - the DLA / PIP VED exemption is based on the level of need so a HRM / Enhanced Mobility PIP is 100%
    - and a Standard Rate Mobility PIP has 50% discount taken from the full VED entitlement
    - Bingaling86 therefore has been found to be ½ as disabled as those in receipt of HRM / Enhanced Mobility PIP is 100%

This is not nuts, you were measured by the state to have a ½ mobility award and were given a ½ VED entitlement. We taxpayers pay for this to help those in real need, you have a ½ real need and that's the level of your entitlement. Blue badge entitlement is nothing to do with a HRM / Enhanced Mobility PIP award. Andy & Flo Benniebert's input is as expected over the last 5 or more years. Bingaling86 should consider contacting the DVLA and offering to give back the """mad""" ½ exemption.
