Vodafone euro traveller
In December I rang Vodafone to add an extra 1g of data on my phone as I was up to my limit. I was also going away so checked that I had euro traveller. I was told that I had and I had 1g added. I ended up getting charged £16 even though I asked for the extra 1g. Long story short, I was given a three month data test drive as compensation for being messed around with giving me an 1g data. Last week I went to Ireland. When I landed I was sent a welcome txt by Vodafone and told that I as have euro traveller I was able to use my calls, texts and data allowance as normal. Knowing that I had the data test drive I used my phone as normal and used the data a lot! As I would have done in the Uk.
On Monday I got a txt saying that my bill will be more this month. I didn't think much of it because I thought it referred to the the £3 a day charge for each day I was in Ireland. However this morning I noticed that they took £439 from my bank account as my bill this month.
I rang Vodafone and the first person I spoke to was fairly positive and implied it was the person who gave me the test drive's fault as they didn't explain all the details. Then a manager rang me to tell me it was my fault as I didn't ring them up before I left to check about using the euro traveller and data test drive. They offered me £70 back because I've been a customer for so long. I rejected it and asked for my case to be escallated.
I hope I've made sense! I would appreciate any advice. I basically want my money back. I was not sent any texts about spending so much money. When I am normally sent these kinds of texts. Have I got a leg to stand on?
