  • Ask for it to be set aside as the registrar is unaware of the law!

Are we now going to get a series of sanctimonious smugness posts from certain forum members?

I must admit I am gobsmacked at this judgment. At the risk of incurring the wrath of the sexual equality police, this sounds like a female judge has fallen for the waterworks antics of the female claimant.

What a nonsense outcome. If it were me I would appeal. As bobbymotors put it, slightly inaccurately, the "registrar" does not understand the law.

However, I can understand if you don't want risk more money and much more hassle on it.

Would say I'm shocked at the decision, but after that ebay caravan thread I'm not surprised really. If it were me I'd carry on fighting - its the sort of decision that will still wind you up in 10 years time, but I can understand wanting to throw in the towel.

    Can it be appealed?

Did you advise the problem with the car was mentioned at the point of sale and the price it was sold at was to reflect that?

Technically I can appeal but before the case she stated something along the lines of would have to prove her judgement is wrong etc. To be honest this will cost more money and no guarantee of winning. I'd guess it would be a appeal fee, then a court fee again and you're talking another £300 plus the claimant would probably remember to produce documents this time.

AARRGG!!!! This is so so wrong.
What is the point of having laws if our own courts cant follow them, madness!
I totally understand you wanting to put this all behind you op, but this would drive me mad, I dont know what I would do in your situation, but I would be seriously tempted to take it to appeal.
