I want to connect two computers to one monitor.
I dont want to use the computers at the same time.
I am sure there is a cable that would do this but I cant find it.
Can anybody point me to it ??

Does your monitor have different inputs eg VGA and DVI as you could you could use VGA from one PC and DVI from the other for example. It all depends on what PC outputs you have and what monitor inputs you have. Otherwise you may need a monitor switch.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
As Fightsback state. You will need a switch.
Most commons are VGA - DVI ones. But now also comes in HDMI, Mini Port etc. Depends on your connection ports.
These are fairly very cheap on ebay. However Maplin sells them at crazy prices.
Get them off ebay.0 -

Using VGA
£2.99 but can't vouch for these or the supplier.

that unit is incorrect it is one in and 2 out , not the way you want it.
I have seen a similar (made in china one) and it did not work as you want it to
quick look at my wholesalers site
http://cpc.farnell.com/_/sg307/vga-switch-4-1/dp/AV20396
states 4 in and one out0 -

the unit from chinwa is to split the output from a single computer and allow it to be switched to enable 2 separate output screens
READ THE LISTING !!
1 x vga INPUT
2 x vga OUTPUT
that unit will not do as you asked.
the more expensive unit I pointed out , has 4 inputs and 1 output , this is what you require .
"How's the NTFS 3G file system Freddie ? "
until the person that suggested that , can return with a programme that can be used under windows to create that file system , I cannot try it
(thank you for asking)0 -

There is nothing whatsoever misleading about that listing and the photograph clearly shows two inputs and one output.0 -
