    ok , so 10.85 + 8p standing charge 11.65p.....

No, you can't add them up, 8p standing charge is per day, 10.85 is per KWh, you will use thousands of KWh, there are only 365 days in a year.

Best figures for your Annual Consumption are those you have worked out for yourself from the last 12 months bills - Surprisingly the numbers given to you by the supplier often not that accurate.

Don't get hung up on the 'Average' figures of 3200 for Elec & 13500 for gas as it is not an Average
It's a median figure set by Ofgem that suppliers must use when stateing the cost of any particular tariff in publicity and advertising.
Every annual use figure I have received from an energy company seems to be some randomly generated number bearing little relation to reality ;)

Its excellent , im just finishing off , asking for my 12 month usage figures and he said after giving me 9746 and 3948..

"How ever it be less or higher based on your meter readings you have provided."

I can download all the bills and do it manually but i would have hoped thye could tell you there and then

I am on the live chat with them , apparently between 25/01 and 12/02 . i used £115 of electric !! (218 units) is that excessive , seems it!

This makes no sense whatsover, sorry.

    1. Did you provide, or did the supplier otherwise optain, actual meter readings on both 25/01 and 12/02? If not you cannot say for certain what the cost of consumption between those dates were

    2. 218 units of electricity consumed over about 2 weeks does not cost anything like £115, so ask them to explain that one.

    3. Even if we assume the £115 to be correct, you are essentially asking if consuming £115 of electricity in 2 weeks is excessive.
Only you can decide that one!
You can either decide to live with it if you are comfortable with it, or take actions to reduce consumption in future.
