    Everyone seems very productive this morning!

    My day started with a phone call from my boss at 7.05 saying that their lift hadn't turned up and could I collect them from the airport (1 hours 40 mins ish away!) I made it 30 miles before she said they'd managed to get a coach so I had to turn around again! Never mind, I made £30 in petrol allowances!

    Shame she's back now as it means I'm going to have to start washing clothes at my own house again! :rotfl:

    So today I have/will:-
    * Check banks
    * Charge phone at work
    * Check FPL
    * Update expenses
    * Walked dogs this morning and will try go out at lunch as its beautiful and sunny out there!
    * Start meal plan/shopping list
    * Cut out coupons for Aldi

    Think that's everything but that's not very much! Can't guarantee dinner will be from stores as sometimes have a naughty takeaway on a Friday! Plus I forgot to make my lunch last night to take to my boss' as I stayed last night (yes Bobarella - I'm pleased you all know the back story!) so had to buy something this morning. However this is the first time in probably 6 months I've not taken lunch to work with me.

    Don't know if I'll get time to post tomorrow as I'm going to see the Bodyguard at the theatre - it was my xams present to my mum. Used clubcard points to get meal vouchers so shouldn't spend a lot. I'm driving (actually to the same place I made it to this morning so at least I've had a dry run!) so I'll only have a coke or two. Really looking forward to it! Aunt and cousin are coming too so should be a lovely day!

    Hope you all have a good day!

    Morning all :)

    Ziggy - wow, 4 prizes! What were they?

    Cat Goodie box
    Willowtree Figure
    £50 SkatehutVoucher (be able to get son some shoes)
    Red Leather Handbag

    Feels like a great week

    Wow everyone's up and at em early today!

    Dawn -thanks for your comments yesterday. I plan to do the same with my space now. I'm going to list it on a local pop ups website as soon as I can get nice pictures ready. There seems to be a thriving market for pop ups in London now and from doing my research some small brands will pay £10 a day to have a shelf or sales rail in another shops space. I don't know if get that where we're located but I've been asked before and said no. I've learnt so much from the temporary job I took as the woman who owned it had a lot of experience in setting up pop ups.
    Ziggy -it's a cafe. Or it was. And hoping to be again. We were up and running for 2 and a half years before the problems began. We'd be 3 in May.

    Ooh Bob, I wish you were close by I would definitely be popping into see you. What kind of style cafe?

    Sounds like you have a quiet day, any plans?

    Morning everyone, I'm late today, very tired, stayed up talking to silly o'clock with boyfriend as we always do. Don't see each other but we make up for it when we do. My friend turned up this morning and dropped her son off for me to mind for a couple of hours, don't remenber Her asking me :-D but it meant I didn't have to go out and do the school run in the freezing weather as she took ds1 (work at the same school)

    I've always dreamed of running a cafe too, let's all go work with Bob for some experience :-D

    Today will be a lazy one...zzzzzz

    - tidy up downstairs
    - friend nipping me town for nappies
    - arrange catch up with a friend for tomorrow night
    - all meals from stock
    - watch a film - free trial from netflixs
    - work out what spends will need when going Blackpool in May to watch prodigy. Break savings down in to budget. Rather take too much than not enough. Proberly only big thing doing this year
    - scrim on electric and gas usage
    - post ebay sale
    - see if I can squeeze something in for children to do sunday
    - may reduce debt repayments to ease things a little but still to clear by end of year. Or build a little pot up and then increase payments again.

    That's it for today, mainly a lot of thinking and budgeting today and a early night :-D

    Afternoon Money Savers,
    Back again, with newly reddened roots (doesn't it just cheer you up to get a colour on?), though it did take 3 cups of coffee to get me going.
    Today's things:
    *mr announced he'd got a half day & demanded the shopping list & target budget for picking shopping up on way home. I'm not complaining about that! One less job to do tomorrow!
    *Turned off everything that doesn't need to be on until this evening. Every little helps. I'd been hoping for either a monthly energy biill reduction or a refund this year, but I think our usage is creeping up again, grrrr.
    *Well, pay-day today so it's my Big Budget Day & a complicated one, as I'd swapped various funds around & had to begin by writing down everything that needed straightening out. Reconciled February's budget & was amazed to see that I was only £1-15 out this month! Checked all payments had gone out correctly. Car insurance looked iffy, then realised they'd taken 1 monthly payment, & on the same day, taken the rest of the annual premium......why it couldn't come out as just one annual payment, I don't know. Never mind, it was the correct amount.
    *Set March's budget. Remembered to deduct the amount from grocery budget we spent last week in order to use a cheeky little Sainso's voucher. Worked out how much money to put in the Savings Piggies this month.
    *Did some projections to check we will have sufficient money in the Holiday Piggy to pay for 2 camping trips this year & a holiday cottage next year. It looks OK, as long as we stick to the budgets. Hope so, anyway. We decided only to do camping this year to try as we had a lot of expenditure paying for our new bathroom. I love camping though, so am looking forward to it.
    *Worked out what we can afford in terms of concert tickets, a festival weekend we always go to, etc. Will be nobbling mr f later tonight to discuss my accounting on this. Think we can do all that we want to do, but on the condition we make a 100% commitment to stick to all budgets. I don't want to put tickets, etc, on credit cards, as this contributed quite a bit to The Debt Years (substitute the word 'decades' for 'years' & you'd be closer to the truth!).
    *Did 2 or 3 surveys.
    *Checked ebay, no movement. Will relist if necessary as we've shifted lots of stuff on its 3rd or 4th go.
    *De-cluttered today's 27 items. Only 1 more day to go & I'll have made it through this challenge!
    Next job is sweeping the courtyard & re-arranging a few tubs, bits & pieces for a new fresh look for Spring, without spending any money. The tubs of bulbs I planted in autumn are sprouting so I'll start with those. Very cold here, & a big frost first thing, but so sunny now, it will be a lovely job.
    Best wishes to all today,
    f x
    Bob - How lovely that you have a cafe! if I lived in London, I'd be round at your door to try & set myself up as your jam/marmalade/brown sauce supplier, lol. You know how I love my growing & preserving. Good luck with the re-opening. You're the wrong side of London to the area I visit my family or I'd be strolling over to hagggle with you for 10p off a scone :-)

    Enjoy the theatre trip

    I'm technically a paralegal but work for a sole practitioner so I've kind of turned into her PA! I've got to leave work in a minute to pick her kids up from school!!! (I don't do that regularly!)

    Really looking forward to the theatre as I've never been before!

    That's the good thing about tubs. Foxgloves you can move them around so the best one is always the most prominent!

    My pork pie was disgusting and is now in the bin :(

    Son is at college so funds have been transferred.

    During the process I looked at my balance and it is :eek: but I think it's because the tax bill I paid on credit card has now been paid off in full. Thankfully it's payday soon.

    I really must list some stuff on eBay this weekend, I know it's boring but I can't afford not to :(

    Driving instructor is having another two week holiday (thank God, that'll save me some money at least!) I'm definitely in the wrong job.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    Hello all,

    Not a lot going on here today as my two boys are home as it's an inset day......
    check banking as its hubby's payday
    balance off our monthly cashbook
    Kids breakfast was using up 2 wraps from last nights tea which I warmed and spread with peanut butter and a sliced banana.
    Lunch was pizza & salad- this was with 2 bags of pizza base mix I got off my mum with a bbe date of April 2013! Used up loads of veggies out of the fridge & the kids loved it.
    No heating on, kids wanted a pajama day so they are still cwtched up with their dressing gowns on playing nicely together (makes a change!)
    Hubby is borrowing a couple of dvds from work mates today so that's some weekend entertainment sorted.

    I received my road tax refund cheque today, but rather then make a special trip into town to pay it in, I'm leaving it until tomorrow when hubby is in town for a sight test anyway.

    Still got to do some food prep this afternoon so that when hubby suggests eating out tomorrow I can say no lets go home and save the money! Better go and get creative!

    Aww your all lovely. Fingers crossed hey!

    FVD - I am so disappointed about your pork pie. They are a huge favourite of mine. It is hard getting a good one with proper hard but crumbly pastry, the right blend of jelly, & a delicious well seasoned quality meat inside. Turns into Homer Simpson...

    Well friend took me for a few bits. She headed off with ds1 to get some bits herself. Ds1 came back with new felt tips, pencils, pritt stick (I brought some glue other day to do the cards but couldn't get lid off!!) some nice cakes and pancakes. Spoils us she does. She also sorted some books for her so she's going to be entertained all weekend.

    Xx
