AVIOS Companion Tickets

Have just received my companion voucher - Lloyds Bank Premier Avios Rewards Credit card (AMEX and Mastercard). Contrary to what is written in MoneySaving Expert.com, it is NOT possible to get a Business class companion ticket. It is very clearly written in the Terms and Conditions that it is valid for Economy Class travel ONLY. But who reads the Ts&Cs carefully enough.

My wife is not very happy!

Beware! It would also be helpful if this website changes the misleading information it contains with regard to this credit card - hopefully somebody will pick this up!

The MSE info does state the companion ticket is economy only - it is in the key questions section.

hcb42, are you referring to the BA Amex card? If so, the OP is not ;)

    Hi Frequent Traveller,

We do say in the write up under the key questions section, that it is only valid on economy tickets....

How do I get the companion flight? The companion flight can be used to get the same ticket type as the card holder, though only on economy class tickets. It's valid for 12 months and you'll also need to pay taxes and charges. You can continue to collect points after it has been issued, but ensure you leave enough time as seat numbers can be limited when redeeming points.

Where did you read that it was valid on business class tickets? I can investigate this and get it changed if you've read it elsewhere on the site.

    Thanks
