Hello everyone...just a quick update. Contacted Citizens advice helpline as trading standards are "linked" to them now and use their helpline. Was told to write to the garage who sold the car and their head office, we also wrote to Renault themselves. The template letter (available online) allowed us to state our problem and gave them 14 days to reply. While awaiting their reply, we discovered that the onus is on the garage to PROVE the car was NOT faulty when sold and they have to do that within the first 6 months after sale. My Daughter received a phone call yesterday asking for a another couple of days for the head office to "look into the matter" and we are now awaiting the outcome of that. From all our enquiries, it would seem that the faulty rear heated window is not covered by warranty. I will let you know if and when we hear any more. Thank you once again for ALL your invaluable help with this.0

Tykesi, yes I am aware that the information about the onus being on the garage not the purchaser, was given to me on here. I was just reiterating the point, but appreciate you reminding me. ALL the information ive received on here has been absolutely invaluable. Yet another "update" to the problem, my Daughter has now been told the cost of sorting it out is going to be covered by the garage and the manufacturer. There will be no charge to my Daughter.
Once again, Id like to thank you ALL for the help and advice we have been given which has now finally resulted in a good result.0 -
i have used a heated screen repair kit and i found it to be pretty good, you need to be abit savvy and use a circuit tester to find the exact point of the break in the element then paint the repair solution on
job done. rear screen heater elements can be broken easily.
