Cat missing litter tray

My cat keeps getting in her tray and then peeing over the edge.
As you can imagine, it's not doing my laminate floor any good, so I was thinking of getting some sort of flat tray/rubber mat to go under the litter tray.
Has anyone else done this and have any ideas for where I could get such a tray/mat? Not sure what to search for! I want something bigger than the try (which is quite large) but fairly flat.

What goes around comes around.....I hope!

How about a doormat with a rubber backing (I've got turtle mats) which you could wash in the washing machine.0

Are you sure her litter tray is actually big enough for her? I know I have seen many in different sizes.
Alternatively you could get one of those ones that looks like a little house. She might not be able to pee over the edge of that?
Good luck with her.0 -
My Dad got this for his cat who was doing the same, works a treat.

Another vote for house style trays. My cat misses the tray when pooping. Not because its small. She always goes right to a corner, finds the perfect spot, then decides to turn round to face inwards!0

this is great for cats who might miss! Be warned though, it's a big item!0 -
Problem I have is that the only place the tray can go has a cupboard door that opens over the top of it. The tray is plenty big enough, she has lost an eye and I think her spatial awareness went with it! I need to find a very big shallow plastic try to go under the litter tray and stick out at the front I think. What goes around comes around.....I hope!0

None of my cats (past and present) have had a good aim. They seem to think that they can pee as soon as their paws are in the litter without caring where their backside is pointing.
I place the litter tray on a rubber carboot liner which I bought in Costco - it has a raised lip around the edge which stops the pee from spreading beyond the mat. It also helps with cleaning up the stray bits of litter as you can take it outside and shake it.
Here's something similar from ebay :

I have no idea if this one is OK - this is just to illustrate the lip around the edge.:hello:0 -
Get a cheap stacking storage box without a lid or a toy box. Used them for years. About 12-18" high. As long as cat is not elderly and can't leap in. Works a treat and a lot cheaper than a fancy litter tray0

I second the cheap storage box option, my three use them, theres also less chance of the litter getting spread around the place and easy to clean.
I've actually found that clear boxes work best for 'hiding' the litter as they don't stand out as much, mine are in the hall and can't be hidden away:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0 -
I got a metre of PVC fabric from Dunelm. Think it was about £2.99. My cat tries to spread litter over most of the downstairs of the house when he starts digging
