Goods sold not fit for purpose, company refuses to give back deposit

Hi all thanks for the feedback albeit mixed.

Having just checked, it is £200 ((the so called non refundable deposit (it's on their contract))

Having waited for the supposed return call I was promised back when I originally posted, I have had to make two further calls, two different people and two different stories. One person seemed to think we would get our deposit back, the second flat out no.

Either way no matter how you cut it, the car was faulty when we collected it, they didn't offer to repair, all they did was reset the error, no warranty was offered or mentioned, I know it was a second hand car, but there was no fault on the night I took it for a test drive a mere three days earlier.

The car was not fit for purpose and had we actually left the property it would have been entirely our problem.

We have since gone with Robins Day Peugeot , the difference is night and day, plus they offered to cover the first MOT, 1 year warranty and the next service.

We are looking into trading standards and small claims court.
