It has been a while since I have updated my diary. Not much really to report here. I haven't used my credit card at all this month for the first time in years which I am really proud of. I transferred £4750 from my barclaycard onto a Halifax 0% card as the interest rate on barclaycard was too high. My current debts are now:

    Barclaycard: £1907.81
Halifax: £4892.50 (£142.50 balance transfer fee included in this)
    Loan: £8166.05
    Overdraft: £450
    Total: £15416.36

I have exactly £20 left in my account this month and tomorrow is payday so I am going to transfer that £20 into the barclaycard to bring that below £1900. Looking forward to making some payments tomorrow!!:j
    Virgin £4892.50/ £3880
    Loan £16587.87/£11706.19
    Sofa £1100 / £314.40 Virgin £6550 / £4533.20
    Barclaycard £5411.41/£0:j
    DH Halifax £413.77 /£0:j Overdraft £450/£0 :j

    Hi Lullabelle,

I have subscribed to your diary! I have recently started my own and have only a little less than your total amount of debt so it will be encouraging to follow your journey :)

My debt, unfortunately, is my own so I am not including my partner in any payments!
Payday is 11 days away for me but I can't wait, also love making payments to see the balance go down that little bit more. I haven't had a great month this month but, as I have only just started, I hope that I will do better next month.

    Hi SMD,

Thanks for subscribing. I'll subscribe to yours too and hopefully we can keep each other motivated!

    Today is payday!!! :j:j:j
I hate the fact that by the end of the day I hae paid so much out on debts. i so look forward to the day when I can save more! So today I paid £120 into the barclaycard. I am waiting on my statement coming through for Halifax to see how much I need to pay into it. £166.79 was also paid off the car loan bringing it to below £8k :j(just about)

I have also applied for a new bank account. At the minute both mine and DH's wages get paid into the same account and all expenses come from that account. So I have decided to have 1 account for monthly bills and another for all other expenses (shopping/petrol etc) I think I will be able to budget better this way. Now I just need to wait for my new details to arrive.

    Off to update my signature!:D

Yay, another good amount from your debt! Congrats :)

I've not spent anything this week yet but really because I don't have anything to spend..oops! I wasn't good with budget this month but at least I haven't spent anything extra on the card this week.

I can't wait until the end of the month to make a couple of payments to my cards and amend the signature!

Hi SMD, that's one way of not spending any money... not having any to spend!!

I decreased my overdraft today by £50. I am going to decrease it by £50 every month so that will be cleared by the end of the year. I know it's only small but at least it's going down. So that's another £50 off the debt.

I need to go shopping tonight so I'm going to do a meal plan now and write down everything I need and stick to the list!

    Have a fab weekend

    Hi everyone,

I'm still working away at my debt busting. I have a few things to put on ebay this weekend which I will put straight onto my barclaycard.

My statement came through today for Halifax so I paid another £50 off that.

Delighted that my debts are finally coming down! :j

    Afternoon!

My statement has come through for Barclaycard. Next months estimated interest is 18p. Makes a big difference from over £70. So glad I moved a big part of the balance onto a 0% card.

I have also signed up to swagbucks to try and earn a bit extra. I am slowly getting the hang of it. Anyone have any other ideas on how to make some extra cash. I really want to get rid of the barclaycard asap so any extra cash would be a great help!

So I have a few things on ebay at the minute that finish tomorrow night. So far the bids are totalling £4.90 but I have loads of watchers so hopefully that improves. I am going to use any money I make to fill the car up with petrol as I have a bit of driving to do for work next week. Once i get that money back it will go straight off my barclaycard!

It's been a while since I updated my diary. But the good news is is that my debt is still going down. I am really getting the hang of this budgeting business!:j

I now have 2 current accounts. One which is just for bills and another which is for general expenses like shopping, petrol etc. This seems to be really working for me!

I have sold a few blu-rays on ebay and made £20 so that was transferred into the barclaycard. I also reduced my overdraft by another £50 so it now stands at £350. I plan on paying £50 off it every month. It means that will be cleared by Christmas. I know that seems like ages away but I'm just glad it will one debt gone by the end of the year!

I have also just paid another £50 off my halifax credit card today.

I have 2 old mobile phones to sell so I am going to put them on to ebay tonight. I'm hoping to get around £100 for both of them. I'm also waiting on £200 of expenses from work to be paid to me. So once I get all this money it is going straight off the barclaycard. I can't wait to be rid of it!!

It has been a really long time since I updated my diary. I haven't slacked though. I am still paying my debts off. My barclaycard is really coming down and I hope to have it paid off by the end of the year. The overdraft is also nearly gone so it should be paid off in the next few months. Then I will focus on the halifax card.

I have another very important reason to clear as much debt asap. We are expecting our first baby in February. After 5 years of fertility treatment we are finally pregnant. ( This is what some of our debt is due to) We are obviously delighted but really want to clear as much debt as possible before I go on maternity leave. I only get the statutory maternity pay so things will be tight for a while.

We have already started to clear stuff out of the house so hoping to find a few things along the way that I can sell to put towards the debt. My plan is to definitley have the barclaycard paid off before the baby comes. Then I will only have the Halifax card to focus on. It is at 0% so I can manage it at the minute.

So over the next few months I am really going to try and update my diary as much as possible and look forward to clearing this debt! :j
