How to find out who owns a company

First ever post for me.
I'd do a land registry search on both the car lot and the address on the website domain registrant.
The car lot will probably be leased but it will give you someone to approach to ask who the tenant is. The domain registrant address could well be the owners home address.
Land registry costs about £4 per search. Could lead you down blind alleys but it's not a lot to lose0 -
