Might be worth a complaint to HMRC. Whilst it is feasible (though unlikely) that the business is below the VAT threshold, HMRC may well investigate.

    Also:

Complain to Nominet that this is a business hiding behind an incorrect listing? ;)

PS - might be worth seeing if you can find out his surname; pound to a penny his first name is Noel, and his surname begins with T. :D

Don't forget that it's only the margin which would be VATable on used cars, not the full sale price.

Have you popped either of those addresses into Google Maps? One of them looks like it's probably the chap's home address.

Could always go ask his neighbours for his name.
  • Thanks for the updates.
Most neighbors would be suspicions about giving up a name to a random person knocking at their door, even if they did, how would I be certain that the persons name who they gave me who be the person behind the Trading name for the court papers

    You'd be surprised.

Back in my claims handling days we used to occasionally employ field staff to go knocking when a third party didnt appear to have insurance and was ignoring all our correspondence. 90% of the time the information came from neighbours confirming that they live there, that they have the vehicle in question, what they do for a living, when they're most often home etc.

Where did you actually buy the car? The residential street; the second address or the, I wouldn't touch that with a bargepole, "business" address?
Maybe 786 Car Sale Limited, the recently dissolved car sales company is still illegally trading?
