Hi, i have been advised to try a BIOS recovery
I have downloaded all the files i need, and i have to rename a working copy of the BIOS to bios.wph.
I am confused to what this means and how to do it, please can anyone be kind enough to explain how to do it
I really want to try and fix my acer
Thank you0 -
If the screen isn't coming on, you're unlikely to get very far.
If you have held down the power button for long enough (5 seconds) and it still doesn't turn on, have a look on youtube, to see if the symptoms match the various nvidia gpu/solder faults on aspire 7520's, judging by your previous posts, it's been failing or a while.
I suggest removing the hard disk before reaching for the heat gun and foilDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
Thank you, i shall have a look0

Perhaps if you posted the instructions that you have, others mat re-interpret them for you.
In addition;

There are quite a few possibilities as to the issue.0 -

Hi
Here is a screen shot of the files on my USB
I have followed the instruction, but i do not feel confident that i have done it correctly.
I plugged in the USB to the machine, i removed the battery and AC Adapter.
I pressed and held Fn+Esc then plugged the AC Adapter in while holding Fn+Esc.
I pressed the power button Once and released while holding Fn+Esc.
Waited a while..
My acer does power on, the lights are on but not flashing
Any advice please, where do i go from here?

Hi, thank you, I don't know anyone with a voltmeter sorry.
Have a look around your local outdoor market.
You can usually pick up a digital multimeter for a few quid.
Failing that, you can get one from Amazon UK, for less than £3.

It'll come in handy for other odd jobs too.0 -
