critical illness insurance claim

My husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer a few months ago, stage 1. He had surgery and 2 cycles of chemo, now fully recovered. Our FA seems to think we can claim for the full amount from our critical illness cover with L&G but we're dubious as to whether we will be successful or not reading the policy docs. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation as the amount would be life changing for us, mortgage paid off.

Why is that? It will help us understand why you have a different view.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
policy says covers cancer - excluding less advanced cases. Because is cancer was very easily treated we question if applies to us.0

What does the policy actually state under the cancer definition? Are you able to copy it here? What's the definition of "less advanced cases"?0

Markers not raised after surgery fell dramatically but biopsy showed LVI of the testicle that was removed0

There is nothing to stop you putting in a claim - Call L&G and ask for a claim form or discuss it over the phone with the claim manager at L&G.
When was the plan taken up as the recent cic plans have an additional payment of between £15-£20k that pays out for less advanced cancer and this does not affect the original sum assured on the plan.
You do not lose out if you put a claim in and it does not cost you any money either.
Call and see what they tell you0 -

Hi, I just wondered if you had any update on your claim as we are just in the process of a very similar claim with Zurich for my husband. The wording in their policy is pretty much identical to what you copied from your L&G policy and naturally, I'm curious to know if someone in a similar situation has been successful.
Most importantly, I hope all is still well with your husband 0
