:eek: You don't live in the Twilight Zone, do you?...I've had scratches appear on my monitor and phone when no-one had even gone near them....
Seriously though, what on earth causes these things to happen? Changes in the weather perhaps?

You could try jewellers rouge, it was used to take a scratch out of my watch face.0

Possibly a metal polish e.g. Brasso or chrome polish might work depending how deep the scratch is. There is also another product, similar to jewellers rouge, used for polishing scratches out of acrylic watch crystals called Polywatch, it's v.good. Whatever you use try a test on an inconspicuous area first.
I suspect after "a few weeks" you could find it difficult to persuade supplier that the scratch was there when delivered, still worth a go though, they can only say yes or no.0
