Why did they put car up for MOT when it would fail on tyres? Surely any garage does the work then puts a car through MOT?0

Surely they would only do this if they had chance to inspect the vehicle before commencing the MOT test.
OP asked for an MOT, that's what the garage did.
Results of the MOT are as per OP's 1st post.
If anything the OP should have known it would fail on tyres, if they were sight checked and pressure checked regularly, but not everybody does this.
No slight at the OP, just don't think the garage have done anything wrong by performing the MOT (as requested by the customer) and presenting the results appropriately.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
we always do the mot first incase their is anything else that may be picked up on the mot.
just put it this way would anyone like to have brought a car in for say an mot & 2 tyres. we replace the front tyres then do the mot & fails on alot of other stuff. our customers would not be happy at all.0 -

Of course you are - Sarah has a little car with little wheels/tyres and little brakes.
And you have ..........
Look closer at a Fiesta next time you see one - check the width of the tyres on it.0 -

i'd still rather drive a good inherited car than a POS
You're driving something you can't really afford.
I'll give you 6 months then you'll part exchange for a 2005 Corsa.0 -
