PIP - What else does that get you?

Hi All
I have recently been awarded the lower level PIP ( both daily living and mobility components) and just thought I would ask everyone on here what else I might be entitled to now that I have some PIP? For example, I think I might be able to apply for Blue Badges, and someone suggested to me that I could get a concessionary cinema card.
Any other thoughts or details?

CEA cinema card - yes - a carer can get in free with you to help you during film screenings https://www.ceacard.co.uk/
Tax for your car may be free or reduced.
Lots of other attractions may offer discounts for yourself & carer - just have to ask as you go along &/or Google! :T0 -
This is a really handy table of other things you might be entitled to.

Also check with your local council and see if you qualify for a free bus pass.Good luck.0 -

It's automatic if you get higher rate mobility component but otherwise you have to apply and be at the mercy of the officials who will decide.0 -
re the bluebadge, it has, well at least for my council, has to be 8 points for the walking, I got 14 points (10 for planning journeys), I was turned down for a bluebadge
I got a letter from my specialist and involved my MP I now have a blue badge. I had wanted to appeal on their 4 points for movement at my tribunal but was advised to leave it till I came up for reassessment. I need a double knee replacement but my specialist wont do it yet because of my age.2007 £1749
2008 £291.99
2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -

and its also the people who always seem to moan about things like this that does a lot of other peoples heads in too about always moaning
its hard living with a disability or being disabled people who are not living with a disability or who are not disabled dont realise what its like and the extra help people with disability actually need hence why they might be entitled to other things
the OP was asking what else they might be entitled too now they get PIP not to be judged or seen as someone who is constantly looking for " gimmie gimmie gimmie" as you s nicely put it
if the shoe was on the other foot and you needed a lot of extra help im sure you would want it0 -

Well said, i would love some one to take all the daily pain killers i take and still be in pain.
My body was worn out partly due too my job.
It took me ages to receive benefits, while waiting i saw lots of people receiving benefits then every so often appearing with a walking stick or a limp or both. Unable to go up a step but weeks before was running up stairs.0 -
For those who think that because someone looks fit, they must be faking, to "milk" the system....😉
Not everything is always what it seems:

I get DLA (Lower rate both components).
These benefits meant that I can remain relatively independent.
DLA means I can pay someone a little to take me to the supermarket....it means I can buy (and maintain) various devices to help me prepare and cook for myself with minimum need for assistance...it means I can afford the adult bibs I need.....the list could go on an on...
And, yes, I have had terrific help to ensure I know what 'extra' help is available...a bus pass and a rail pass mean that I can (if I have a companion) make small journeys into the nearest town...access to the Community Car system means I can have affordable travel to the hospital (I need to see the specialists there on a regular basis)....cold weather payment means I can keep my small flat warm enough so that I am not rushed to hospital with non-responsive bronchitis....again I could go on and on with the list....
Basically, the help I get actually SAVES money! It means I can live independently (albeit in Sheltered Accommodation)....without it I would be living in a nursing home - which would cost much much more.
And to echo others....if you have a problem with my getting the benefits to which I am entitled (and FYI it is after years of paying in to the system)... then I am willing to swap right now!...You take my multiple conditions...you give up much of your independence and end up in sheltered housing at 50...you have the pain, the blackouts, the dizziness that I live with daily...you have your wonderful OAP mother become your official carer (and how cr*p does that make me feel some days...I should be looking after her...neither of expected her to be a carer in her 80s!)...you have a repeat prescription that runs into double figures.......and having given up these, I will cheerfully give you my meagre benefits!0 -

Milking ? I tell you what i call milking tea-bag... Making a fat profit from council right to buy properties whilst greater london has a chronic shortage of social housing for keyworkers. I've asked you before your thoughts on this ..but funnily enough whilst you slate social security (that people have paid into) you seem strangly quiet on this one.... Funny that
If you don't like people getting what they are entitled to - which is what the board is for, then i kindly suggest you have a think about what the phrase "moneysaving expert" means. :rotfl:Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0
