  • Totally agree with you all.
You never know what's around the corner, the way you live your life today could be taken away from you over night and you may require help just like the original poster.
Just because a few people take the mick doesn't mean that genuine people should suffer.

Agreed ... If only the self proclaimed armchair experts who can obviously tell who is disabled or who is faking from a 2 second gaze across a carpark just worked for the nhs ..it'd save the country a fortune in mri's and medical tests :rotfl:
Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.
  • I know it angers people, but tea bags comment would really have been better treated with the contempt it deserved and totally ignored.

Comments like that are said to wind people up and the likelihood is we won't hear from tea bag again, because their job is done, making people feel more miserable and guilty for asking if there's anything else which might make their existence more bearable..

Most people know that to be successful in a claim for PIP/DLA it has been reoignised that the person has a genuine disability, hence the fact that it often passports you to other entitlements, the additional benefits are there for a reason, not because people are milking the system but because the system acknowledges their need.
  • Thanks to you all for the responses, and apologies for starting a bit of an argument.

Just to put my tuppence worth in for tea-bag's benefit: I have worked all my life, paid more tax than I care to mention, and never claimed a single benefit until now. I have been afflicted by a non curable chronic illness and this small amount of PIP, along with the other complementary benefits, will just help me live a more bearable life. If you begrudge me that then shame on you!
  • Don't know if this is appropriate for you but here's one more!!
