Many moons ago we took DD + 7yr old GS to Disney in LA for week before NY + NYE

Not exactly sunbathing weather but there was fun for the GS and DD.

We did take off for a few days to do some West coast exploirng

Remember going to Sea World and being very cold watching the whales!
    NYE show was good.

    10hr flight though.

    Spent NYday in
    Istanbul-Rainy
    Saudi Warm but no beer!
    Las Vegas Warm-fireworks
    San Fran-Wet-cold

Am dragging DH to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks. He definitely wouldn't want to do Disney in the States for his birthday. (Nor would I go near Seaworld.)

Saudi is covered by UAE and we both hated Vegas. Done San Fran already.

    I know I'm a pain!

Yes. Not sure whether that's a normal holiday or a special new year birthday to be honest, but it's on the "worth researching" list.

Somewhere fabulous for New Year? Well, Cuba is the most fabulous country in the world, so that is easy... You would just about catch the Havana Film Festival.

If you don't fancy Cuba then just about your only option in Ethiopia: you could check out the castles in Gonder and go trekking in the Simien Mountains.

Been trying to get to Cuba forever! Could be a possibility. Thank you!
