How? selling a house and can't take offers?

Also you don't know the state of the house rewire etc so you can't make assumptions about my offer. The vendor is in the clouds with the valuation.

It isnt my opinion on the state of the house that should worry you....it`s all the other potential buyers eyeing it up ;)

Not really just find it annoying that you hit a brick wall with stuff. I just want everything to run smooth as I live 200 miles from the property I can't just pop round to sort any problems. And if this is the attitude of the vendor, what happens when I want a survey done? Is she going to be available? It could be a huge ball ache. However I want the house and would pay full price :) I just like to know where I stand.

Think you've just proved my point.
Put full asking on the table for 24 hours if you dont want to play.

Lucky woman, spending her winters abroad....so jealous... she is probably lying on the beach somewhere with her phone in her apartment, if the EA left a message for her she should pick it up when suitable, she has her phone with her so i can only assume she is expecting such calls.

It is a house we have been eyeing up just not been in the position until now. When I put the offer in the EA was a bit shocked and surprised so I don't think she was expecting much interest

Nothing like letting the interested parties stew for some time.

There has been no other offers. The place is a 40's time warp so EVERYTHING needs doing. According to the EA there has been other interest however when I first viewed she did not know how to get into the place.

Around here the ones that are untouched and in need of modernisation are like gold dust. You probably won't believe me, but they actually sell for more than the standard modernised ones!

Example was two houses in the same cul de sac within a month of each other last year. The one in good condition was advertised for 500k and sold for 530k, the one needing total refurbishment was on for OIEO 440k and went for 600! ... You're right - some people ARE idiots!
  • The OP might as well withdraw offer having told the world including the EA and vendor that it was a low offer. Oh and calling them idiots as well. Not a good start to a buyer / seller relationship.
