I have done a second viewing on a house and put in a offer yesterday. It is a vacant possession (relative died) the EA can't get hold of the vendor! Turns out she spends the winter on holiday! She won't be back until at least 3rd March! Why put a house on the market if you can't be contacted!!! Both her phones go to answer phone and we don't know if she checks email!
I have sold my house and buyers are keen to move! Solicitors are already starting to move. I have low-balled the offer as well so could take a few more days!
There is also others looking at it and wanted it took off the market! As i have seen nothing else I like!!!
RANTING!!!!!

How many exclamation marks?
Look 3rd of march is a week away, not exactly long. And depending on where abroad they are, the time difference might mean it's the middle of the night so they, not surprisingly, are asleep. Or they might be dealing with their bereavement.
And if others are looking at it, presumably they won't be able to contact the vendor either.

Seems your vendor is a smart cookieNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

Because presumably the EA knows about what they'll accept, because it might be a slow time of year, maybe they've fallen ill and are in hospital.
There are any number of reasons. But getting het up isn't going to magically make them appear0 -

January it went on the market but they have been away weeks.0

Sounds sensible to me, take a holiday then come back to weigh up offers. Not like she hasn't told the agent and has vanished.
I agree with the post title - many people are idiots. But in this case you seem to want a lower offer accepted quickly to suit your timescales, and beat off other people interested in the house. Don't want to knock you for trying, but seems a little harsh to call the seller an idiot - especially in circumstances.0 -
So she'l come back in a week and find 3, 4 (however many) interested buyers with offers. She can then either accept one or start a bidding war.
Meanwhile she is relaxing on holiday while all the boring viewings take place.
As the property is empty (and perhaps with no mortgage) she is in no hurry so can take her time.
Sounds emminantly sensible to me.0
