Tuesday 24 February - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:money:

New poster here, if I may join in?
Quite proud of myself today, I submitted a meter reading last week after being careful with the electricity all winter, and today found out I'm £45 in credit which is being refunded back to me. Bonus!0 -
Morning, Thank you Ziggy for starting us today.
Yesterday I didn't manage to post but I did manage to read about everybody elses progress. I dried the washing on the line yesterday, first time this year we have been able to hang it out with any hope of it drying, no way would I even contemplate it today as the weather is very changeable bright sun/heavy rain/very windy cycling through every 10 minutes. I also did the shopping taking the list and sticking to it. It was a LSD and all spending was budgetted for.
My list:- Open curtains fully
- Cull 100 emails
- NSD
- BLD from stores
- DW set to run overnight
- WM set to run overnight
- Dry laundry on airer
- Empty toaster of crumbs
- Clean DW filter
- Add salt to DW
- Clean dehumidier filter
- Close curtains before it gets dark
- Educate and entertain the children for free
- Turn off all light and appliances not in use

Hello All
Everyone sounds nice and busy today.
Nice to meet you Red Squirrel
Today I have
1) Walked an hour to the dentists & walked back again. Cost saving £3 on buses
2) Will also be walking the school run & biking back, so a further £1.50 saved as the travel card cap is £4 something for the day
3) NSD as I used the change from my free found fiver yesterday to buy a loaf for today. 7th NSD of the month.
4) I spent time again chatting to BT who seem to be very confused, after telling me I could move my payment date, I've been harassed with letters and emails asking for payment and threatening to suspend service. I have now spoken to the 3rd and I hope final agent on chat, who assures me I have until the 3rd of March to make payment, which suits me fine as I just need to juggle a new pay day for this month.
5) Will be loading my reciept for the bread into Checkoutsmart in a moment, so free 1p for spending my free fiver
6) Checked both sets of banking & sent a reminder on an invoice
7) Discussed claim progress with loss adjustor
8) Will be going to the library on way to school to get more books for my son & possibly a free film with our reward points.
9) Read a bit more of the Cheapskate Gazette in bed this morning, love all the tips in it so much. Before I started, some people on here said they found it too american and too dated, but I cant agree.
10) Meals planned for tonight.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all
So far today I have:
Walked into town to do the errands I didn't get to yesterdayAvoided using fuel by not taking the car, AND it didn't rain
Posted an ebay sale whilst there
Put all auction stock away in loft cupboard
Done a Pinecone survey
Come to a complete halt as DD2 turned up with baby GD after a sleepless night and needing an ebay parcel sorting out. Her OH had underestimated the postage, and this meant wrestling with ebay, my new computer and the printer which doesn't really like speaking to either  Eventually managed to print out a label for collect + for £8.09, which is still more than he had specified, but less than half of what Royal Mail wanted for the same parcel.
Exhausted now!
Still to do:
Post DS's birthday card Done
Start to declutter kitchen, which is what I had planned for today. I am following the Konmarie thread, and although I don't go as far as folding plastic bags into samosa shapes and thanking things I bin or recycle :rotfl:, it is really helping me focus on being tidierPlus, I am nosy and like to know what everyone else is doing
Made some progress, got a big box to freecycle, plus some Le Creuset type items that can go in my sales unit, but loads still to do. If anything, it looks messier at the moment
Update grocery challenge thread - i have gone over this again month, but it is really useful nevertheless as it makes me think hard about what I spend
Oops must do this
Make a frittata for supper, using eggs from my chickens, some scraps of ham, vegetables and cheese lurking in the fridge and a red pepper that I bought this morning Done
Make bread in machine In progress, I can smell it now
Right, a quick coffee then on to those kitchen cupboards0
