I know IHT is due from 6 months after date of death.
Do you get fined if you pay the IHT but don't get the application off in time?

yes, we will have paid the IHT before the 6 month deadline but the solicitor is dragging his heels getting the application forms sorted and I think HMRC may receive them after the 6 month date by the time we have both signed. Is there a penalty for this?0
