Gas Meter Removed from property I am buying - what to do?

Hi,
I was trying to see if there were any other posts before asking a question but being a newbie I got stuck (sorry)
I will be reinspecting the house which I am buying tomorrow morning at 10am. I have been advised by the seller that the gas meter was removed in late December as the property was unoccupied.
1. How do I find out if the gas is still connected?
2. Would I have to pay for a meter to be installed ? Does anyone have an indication of costs involved?
Thanks again x

The survey was vague it did not go in to detail, thanks for your help.0

It's a bit unusual to remove a meter entirely!
You wouldn't do it just because a property was empty. We've had some removed but that's because there was genuinely no need for gas anymore at all - ie. we're converting a house from flats back to a house so the new home owner doesn't want five gas bills!
The cost of putting gas back in could be considerable. You'd need to check with the suppliers.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I also have checked if there is a MRPN Number which there is but i am still confused..0

Perhaps there is more to it than the seller has stated. I honestly dont know and i am a first time buyer so sorry regarding the questions.0

If over 12 months the MPR may be dead and have no supplier, a survey wouldn't pick this up as its a grid testDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I believe its only been 3 months since the meter was removed.
WHo would I need to contact to arrange to have this tested?0 -
