Damaged goods

I am wanting advice in relation to my belongings being damaged whilst in storage by damp and vermin infestation.
I paid insurance to the storage firm alongside my storage fee monthly by direct debit.
My items were in storage for almost 2 years, goodness knows how long the vermin had been in there.
I made the storage firm aware of damage and duly completed a claim form on the day my items were removed. The storage firm use an Insurance broker. I am outraged it has taken over 9 weeks and I am still waiting for recompense, If I don't contact them I hear nothing. The insurers asked for an estimate of replacement goods which I sent via email. Then they asked for it to be in writing?? I also had to send catalogue/weblinks for similar items. (Furniture items were only 6 months old when they went into storage!!)
This has caused unnecessary distress and I wish for it to be resolved sooner rather than later.
The Storage company have in my opinion been negligent in their duty of care in protecting my belongings. They appear to have washed their hands of the matter and are leaving it up to the insurers which, I am still waiting to hear from!!
How can I expedite my claim?

Insurance is a slow business and 9 weeks isn't actually that long. The storage company are dealing with it and their negligence has been passed onto the insurers so not a lot more they can do.
You could try the financial ombudsman who also deal with insurance complaints.0 -
Maybe take them to court
They can't wash their hands of a claim
If you claim additional damages in court case and the court case appears before insurance settle you will get settled quicker and get more in damages
Or even better the company might settle faster out of courtWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0
